Hi! I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village and I am going to show you some techniques
that I use to properly care for my horse's feet. Some supplies that we are going to use
to take care of our horse's feet is a hoof pick. There is a pick on one side so you can
get dirt out of the horse's foot or rocks or debris or anything that might be stuck
in there and a brush on the other so that we can brush out any dirt and debris that
we weren't able to get with our pick. We are going to be using hoof conditioner. This is
a tar based conditioner. We brush it on to the outside of horse's feet. It keeps the
hoofs really nice and supple. It keeps them from getting too brittle and breaking up.
We are going to be using a hoof treatment. This treatment will help with any fungus or
anything that we might find going on in the horse's foot. It also helps to thicken the
sole and keeps the horse from getting different kinds of conditions that may cause the horse
to come up lame. So these are some different supplies that you will need to take care of
your horse's feet.
