Who is Hussain, they ask me Who is Hussain Do not ask who but What is Hussain?
Why he was Martyred why was he Slain? Why was his family anchored in chains
Oh the Torment, Suffering and Pain It boils the blood running down my veins
But hear me you and I will explain Allow me to tell you, who is Hussain
Hussain is the flower, that gave eternal Fragrance His scent still remains, in his tragic Remembrance
Hussain is the candle, that always shines bright
Hussain will guide you, to do what is right
Hussain is Freedom, Hussain is Might Hussain gives you strength to put up a Fight
And just like the dove that soars up above Hussain is the symbol of Peace and Love
Hussain is the ark of salvation Hussain's an example for every nation
The flame of Hussain, shall never die out The flame is within me ignited no doubt
Hussain is the Voice, when all else is silent Hussain stands up, to the oppressive Tyrant
Hussain is the architect of facing Oppression Indeed in his tragedy, remains a lesson
Would you rather die standing, or live on your knees
For indeed after hardship, there will be ease
But oh the hardship that befell Hussain He remained patient throughout the pain
His family was killed in front of his eyes His heart shatters as each person dies
He is covered in wounds, And he stands alone While heartless animals are throwing stones
The pain he felt as his body fell apart Was nothing compared to the pain in his heart
With Hussain's pain my heart remains broken These tears represent, all the words unspoken
