So I thought I'd do a video blog post instead of
regular write-ups like I usually do.
I guess in this post I just wanted to talk about my travels to university, which is where I work now.
I work at Macquarie University and I've been a student there since 2007.
And I've been working there for a few years now after I've graduated. It's pretty sweet.
It's a pretty sweet place to work.
Umm yeah and recently I've been driving University instead of
catching public transport.
And I've been catching public transport since my student days (2007).
And I used to catch three trains
from doorstep to doorstep and it used to take anywhere from
an hour and 15 minutes to two hours and this was contingent upon
various things like availability of express trains
and you know, delays and what not,
luck, timing, all those factors
go into your trip from one place to another.
Umm yeah.
And you might say "Arun, why do you like why do you take
a two-hour journey? That's a bit of a trek!" and
yeah but why are you talking to your screen asking that question in the first place?
But more seriously though. I think got used to it really.
I kind of...it's somewhat related to the blog post
I did recently on
conditioning. So I just became used to it.
Used to pack your bags, that walk from
my house to the station
and catching the trains and
sitting down, thinking, reading, listening to music
looking out the window admiring things
people. Just got used to it really.
Some of the time I quite enjoyed it.
I quite enjoyed just that...stroll...
kind of relaxing, really...just walking back-and-forth.
I used to keep myself amused with
silly little games that...you know...childish games that kids play
like stepping on cracks or avoiding the cracks,
getting as close to the cracks as possible when you're walking back and forth.

Racing the elevator
when when you see a whole bunch of people catching the elevator
instead of taking the stairs, I'd try and race them to the top and
usually I'd win, because the people get on
there's a delay getting on and moving to the top.
And uh, stealthily standing on one leg. I used to do that as well, I don't know why.
It's kind of like those birds day that stand...
I don't know. It's kind of like strengthening your legs almost. I'd do that and umm.
And very silly little things like that.
yeah I used to quite enjoy that.
I used to — you know — run my fingers along things like train bark
— tree bark, not tree bark —
cold handrails, soft brush plants,
those ridges, those golf-ball sized, little divots
sort of things in certain platform walls.
I'd run my fingers through that.
I'd observer people, when I used to wait for trains.
