Delicious lasagna! Jo reveals his favorite recipe
Today, I'm cooking something delicious along the lines of...
"feasting without remorse".
Maybe you know (that feeling) yourself... or what happens to me also happens to you.
You like to eat pasta...
... but at the same time you have to watch your figure a bit so you won't gain too much weight.
So that's why I started looking onto... whether it's possible to cook a delicious meal...
... while not eating too many carbohydrates in the evenings.
And I found something.
We'll prepare it together: Lasagna with very little carbohydrates.
Do you have garlic?
I'll need onions... um, four... a nice... a nice size.
I'll also definitely take a bunch of parsley.
Perfect! I think that's it for now.
Thank you.
Have a nice day.
Same to you. Thank you. Bye!
This looks great.
Hi, I'll need 500 g (approx. 1.1 lbs) of ground beef.
Thank you.
Nice day to you.
Same to you. Thank you.
Thank you. Bye.
Bye.
In Germany, it's not zucchini season right now, but I still have an insider's tip.
My favorite Turkish grocery store is right around the corner. I'm sure I'll find it there.
Now, I have to dash through the snow again. Ugh!
Oh, perfect! So...
I'll need 1 kg (2.2 lbs) of zucchini for the recipe.
Then I've got everything.
Now we can cook.
So... here we are. And to mark the occasion, because I don't always cook for you, I've searched for an extra nice location.
And today, we're cooking together here. In a real dream kitchen.
I'd say we get started right away.
Cut the zucchini in slices of about half a centimeter (0.2 inches).
First, a bit of olive oil...
Very important: salt and pepper.
Actually, I've learned to cook at home.
My grandma is a very good cook, my mother is the best cook in the world...
... and as a child, I always watched when things got prepared and found it exciting and...
... always looked over their shoulder and started early with trying out things of my own.
I've always enjoyed that.
I think it's very relaxing to cook at home in the evenings. Therefore, ...
... I try to make time for it.
So this is a sort of hobby for me as well.
The zucchini slices are prepared.
They now go into the oven underneath the broiler and need to get...
... nicely grilled for about 15 min.
In the meantime, I'll take care of the meat.
Here, the onions and the garlic from the market come into play.
A dash of olive oil ...
Perfect! That's exactly how it's supposed to be.
Which means we can continue with the meat.
I'm totally excited about my new test kitchen here. I've just realized that there's some sort of turbo button...
... and suddenly, it cooks like crazy.
We'll add some fresh herbs in a minute and, in the meantime, I can prepare those.
I've especially bought...
... my parsley.
I have to chop that now ... about a handful.
For the sauce, I need one of those cream cheese packages.
It goes into a bowl.
A touch of milk.
Add a bit of pepper.
Salt - very important.
Grated cheese.
About... two hand-full.
Thore and I quite enjoy cooking together. I think we both like to cook.
*Jo's favorite colleague is Thore*
Yeah, but... I'm head chef.
Now comes the time to get the zucchini out of the oven.
Ahhh, it's warm!
Now I'm proceeding just like I would with normal lasagna.
We start layering.
Now I'm doing layer by layer, continuously adding zucchini, meat and sauce.
I was busy.
I'm adding the last layer.
And now to top it off, cover it with...
... grated cheese.
You can be generous with that.
And then, this nice creation can go into the oven.
It'll need about half an hour.
And then... we can enjoy it.
I've previously pre-heated the oven.
Or kept it warm, therefore...
Half an hour at 200 degrees (390 F).
*Clean up can be taken care of later*
Half hour should be over. Let me see how the lasagna is doing.
Oh yes. It looks really delicious.
Which means I can enjoy now.
Hopefully, you too if you cook it at home.
I really enjoyed cooking with you today.
Enjoy the meal.
Maybe we'll see each other again soon.
