>>Hi, my name is Monica,
and I'm from Webster, New York.
In High School, I wasn't exactly
sure what I wanted to do, but I
really like math and I wanted to
make an impact on the world.
I thought that this would be
hard to find,
especially in math and science,
but then I discovered the
Imaging Science major,
which covers a lot of cool
imaging systems.
That's what caught my eye
and that's what I went into
when I came to RIT.

>>This place has given me
so many remarkable
opportunities.
I've really found my calling
working in the remote sensing
lab analyzing satellite imagery.
I love the fact that you can
get so much information about
something from so far away.
Over the summer I worked
on vicarious calibration for the
next generation of GOES
satellites for NASA.
This will be used everyday
for all the national weather
predictions and services.
It was amazing to find
something that I'm so
passionate about when I
had no idea what I wanted to do.
The support from my faculty and
the opportunities for first hand
experiences really makes me
confident that I will impact
the world.
