Cotter pins can be tricky to measure
you need the diameter from the middle and the length from just under the eye
to the end of the shortest prong
You can often measure the diameter with a screw gauge, but cotter pins come in
some in-between diameters
so if it doesn't fit snugly, measure the diameter with calipers near the middle on the widest sides
The length is measured from the base of the eye to the end
of the shortest prong.
Measure with a ruler like you'd have on your gauge, or check with calipers
this would be a one-quarter by one-and-three-quarter inch cotter pin.
