This is the newest Nokia smart phone which is supposed to compete against the high-end Android phones and the iPhone.
And a small tablet from Dell which is in between a smartphone and a tablet.
Tablet personal computers are popular. Following the success of the iPad, more and more companies are manufacturing their own tablet.
Dell distinguishes itself from the rest because of its small format. It uses Google's Android system and can access the internet.
It's relatively fast and easy. You can send text messages and e-mails and make calls using a phone app.
But it looks a bit strange to use such a big device to make calls. So people may start making fun of you.
I think it's a neat device, but I'm not really sure who the Dell Streak was made for...
because if you already have a smartphone, a Dell Streak is more of the same, but with a huge screen which doesn't fit in your trouser pocket.
If you're looking for a real tablet, then the Dell Streak is a bit too small.
It can't compete with an iPad for instance. You're unlikely to read a book on this.
According to Dell, it's the ideal internet device for the train, but the Dell Streak doesn't really grab me.
This is the Nokia N8. Nokia is having trouble keeping up with its competitors, and this device also leaves me with mixed feelings.
My first impression was that it's a sturdy phone and the screen is good. You have the feeling that you have a reliable phone in your hand.
It has a 12 megapixel camera, which is quite unusual for a cell phone. You can use it to make excellent pictures and HD video recordings.
One of the Nokio's nicest features is that it has a mini HD connection.
So you can use a cable to connect your phone to an LCD or plasma TV.
You can see everything you do with your phone on the screen. You can show people your photos or videos.
if you play a game, like Angry Birds, you can also see that on the big screen. It's a bit like a touch screen game computer.
There aren't many cell phones with a video connection.
The FM transmitter is not a new function, but I like it.
It's like having an FM transmitter in your phone. You to send the music on your phone to all of the radios in the neighbourhood.
It's like being a radio pirate with a range of 2 metres.
So the Nokia N8 has good multimedia functions, but...
there are also a lot of problems with this phone. The main one is the Symbian operating system which Nokia is still clinging to.
There's a new version on the N8, but it still doesn't work well.
It's slow. It's not enjoyable to use it to type. The internet browser doesn't work very well.
The social networking functions also don't work very well.
If you want to use your phone mainly to take pictures and for multimedia functions, then the N8 is a good choice.
If you love to use mobile internet and you're active on social networks, then you'd be better off with an Android, an iPhone or a Windows 7 device.
