I was finally outside, a city-kid.
It was then that we really realized how many stars there are.
The universe is endless.
We'd never be able to go there, we could only gaze at it
and the thought of being able to touch any of it, that would be so cool.
We fly into space with spaceships, to explore the unknown,
but sometimes, the universe comes to us.
Every meteorite is important in comprehending our solar system
and the genesis of life.
The problem is that you have to find these meteorites.
My name is Thomas Grau. I am a meteorite hunter.
Every meteorite is mail from the universe.
Someone has to collect the mail. And that's me.
This was my first one.
Everyone told me I was an incredibly lucky guy,
and that I'd never see anything like that again in my life.
But I found a way.
I look for recent reports and witness accounts.
I have to interpret what they saw:
Distance, position, noises.
There are different elements that make the "boom ... boom, boom".
So just from the sound, you can figure out how many stones fell.
I write down all of the information on my map
and divide off the drop area.
Then I head out.
The first moment, I see it.
I take another step.
There it is!
Now, I try to shake it loose.
How do I do that?
Really nice, just like you'd expect - a fragment.
Thomas is no scientist.
His hunter instinct drives him.
Thomas goes, seeks, and finds.
Dad, come quick!
I have found 32 meteorites in my life so far.
Collect fresh meteorites, post from the universe,
and bring it to those who can read it,
that's my job.
That's why there is only one thing for me: hunting.
