Hi it's Cathie Heart of CathieGraphy in photography & design services mostly around branding and
identity and business headshots or your business style and also websites and advice and that
kind of thing.
Today's questions is for the 6W way of life and its the last question. Oh, I forgot .. this
is the 30 day challenge on youtube for business tips and tricks from 30 women around the world
so there's a few of us out there with lots of advice on different things. So my advice
is always on start up businesses and branding / identity so that when you are marketing
yourself you are marketing to a consisten message.
So the 6W way of life, we've done the Who, What, Where, When and Why. Now is the ultimate
action question: How are you going to deliver something? How are you going to do what you
want to do?
Questions to ask for yourself: How are you going to find your clients? This is a relational
question to where are your clients? If your clients are local then hopefully you'll find
them in your local communities. So, if your product or services is to children and you
have children of your own you can talk to the parents of the kids who are going to the
same school as your kids. How will you find your clients?
How will you sell your products or services? If its online will you be using Ebay or Etsy
or another marketplace online? Will you just be using your own blog and website? Will you
have an ecommerce site? How are you going to be selling? Is it going to be on wordpress
with the marketpress plugin? Is it going to be a magento store which is an online open
source platform? Fantastic platform, little bit difficult for start ups and new people
who are not tech savvy but it is an excellent platform and has massive growth potential.
How will you collect your payments? Its all well and fine having an idea but you actually
need to get paid for your product. So how are you going to charge your clients for your
product or service? If its a brick n mortar store you'll have a point of sales in the
till machines. If its a photography service and you meet your clients on location, how
will they pay? Are they paying up front, are they going to pay literally in cash in person?
Or are they going to pay via a signature on your phone or your ipad which goes to a paypal
distribution .. collection method? Not distribution but a collection method.
How will you know when you've achieved your goals? What are your benchmarks to say that
you've achived this and now you can go to the next level? So what are your business
benchmarks? Are they your sales figures? Is it going to be your number of clients? The
number of products sold? How will you know when you've achieved what you want to achieve?
So those are all of the 6W questions, Who, What, Where, When, Why and now How. So think
about it all together and write a two paragraph summary of your thoughts so far. Put it onto
