Hi, I'm Heidi Massey-***, Project Manager
of Shell Eco-marathon Americas.
Thanks for tuning in to our third logistics video
in which we'll cover lodging options, airline discounts,
off-track awards and SKF support.
We've negotiated some group rates
at two hotels within walking distance to
the George R Brown Convention Center.
The Hilton Americas Downtown is available
for $148 per night, while the Embassy Suites'
rate is $139.
Detailed rate information and the option to reserve
your room are available on phase two
registration website.
Free camping will be provided inside of the
George R Brown Convention Center
in Hall A3.
We will provide breakfast, padding and showers to the teams
but ask that you provide your own sleeping bag, tents,
snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.
On Thursday of April 4th the camp grounds and
paddock area will become available for the teams
that have completed registration.
All teams must be out of the camp ground
and the paddock by 9am Central Time
by Monday April 8th.
We have also secured a discount on United Airlines
which you are welcome to use.
When comparing airlines be sure to use
the code below in the offer box on united.com.
Please don't forget to apply for the following
optional off-track awards via the registration website.
Design, Eco Design, Safety, Communication
and Technical Innovation.
The Best Team Spirit as well as
Perseverance in the Face of Adversity awards
will be determined on-site.
Last year we had a school mascot on-site as well as
a *** margarita machine so please feel free
to be creative with your submissions.
Finally we have a quick message from our sponsor SKF.
You may have heard of SKF as a manufacturer of bearings
but their knowledge extends to sealing, lubrication systems,
mechatronics and service technologies.
As the knowledge engineering company, SKF would like to
offer you free access to its engineering experience
and products as you design your vehicle.
In the US, please contact the engineering hotline
at 888-SKF-2000.
Or via email at askengineeringhotline@skf.com.
If you're a Canadian school, please contact
Cheryl Ramos at cheryl.ramos@skf.com.
Introduce yourself as a participant in the
Shell Eco-marathon and SKF will be
glad to assist you in making your vehicle as competitive
as possible.
Thanks for tuning in once again
and keep those questions coming.
You can submit them via Facebook,
our SEMA website, twitter and don't forget
your relationship manager.
