Hey everybody, this is Lucas Mattiello. Last time we addressed the audience wants value.
Now this is part six in our Communicate With Confidence: How to be Comfortable on Any Stage
series. So this is the end of it. I am really happy and excited to deliver this because
this has everything to do with you, so weve already set up how you control your nerves
and you address the audiences needs, but now, this is you have to be comfortable with
the true value that you can provide. There are a lot of presenters that get up there
and it is so transparent because there is people that are claiming to be experts in
their field. The unfortunate thing is this is evident to everybody, but the presenter
in a lot of cases because if you really dont know your material, you dont know your
craft, you dont know your industry, it shows through. So when youre getting up
there and youre getting ready to present, the one thing that I urge you is to become
an expert in your industry. Know your material because when you are confident in the value
you provide, a lot of the negative self-talk that comes up, it goes to the wayside. It
does not become an issue because youre saying no, look, I have helped this many people
make huge changes in their lives. I have provided this value. I can help the audience achieve
this in their lives. What this does is it reduces a lot of the fears because youre
saying, Hey, I am an expert. Like, I know in my personal practice, I can
absolutely help people. I have done it before. I have done it some worst-case scenarios than
the people that come see me now, and this gives me absolute confidence in helping people
because I am saying I have done it before, obviously I can do it again. So when you have
this confidence, the audience receives it. They really start believing you because they
are like, This guy knows what he can do. This person can take me to where I want to
go. So remember every person in the audience that has taken time or paid money to come
see you speak, theyve come there with a specific intention. So they already believe
that you can deliver. Now, its up to you to hone in on your expertise and deliver it.
So, take this in mind before any presentation, before you even get the call to do it, and
if there is areas that are coming up that you are saying, Oh, I am not really sure
about that, research it. Research it, get that experience, and if youre just starting
out, try just doing it from a volunteer standpoint just to get those reps in. Get that experience
because this is going to boost your credibility, but more importantly, its going to boost
your self-confidence, and when youre confident in what you can offer, the sky is the limit
because a lot of these negative thoughts go to the wayside and you just start grabbing
every opportunity because every time you get up in front of an audience, its another
opportunity for you to take your business, your career, and your legacy to the next level,
so do not hesitate, and I urge you to use these six steps and grab the opportunities
that are presented. They are everywhere. So just take it, and every time you go up there,
its another chance to become more refined in your presentation, to gain experience,
and to be able to make a bigger impact in the world.
