It matters who we have in our lives. Who we work with. Who we share our lives with. We
need people in our lives who make us feel alive, who bring energy and encouragement.
"I have come to give you life and life to the full." John 10:10
It's interesting that Jesus doesn't offer success or fame or power or wealth or happiness.
He offers life. He's not just talking about life being good, successful or fulfilling.
He is talking about a life that is completely new.
Because our world is broken and messy. Sport is frequently affected by corruption, greed
and violence.
'yes or no, did you ever take banned substances to enhance your cycling performance?'
'yes'
And that brokenness and messiness is not just out there, it's in here.
Our world needs new life. And this is what Jesus wants to give us.
The historical accounts tell us that Jesus was falsely incriminated and then crucified,
hardly fullness of life. But they also tell us he came back to life three days later AND
IS ALIVE TODAY. Jesus said he died not just die as an inspiration for us, but in our place,
so we could receive this new life.
The best kind of life. Life that gives true hope. Life that restores us to live as we
were meant to be. Life that does not even fear death.
Coaches inspire.
Jesus does more than inspire.
LIFE TO THE FULL.
