GWEN SHAMBLIN: Here we are again, another wonderful day, praise you God for every day,
for every TV show, You are awesome to let this go out around the world, and we are going
out around the world. This is episode twenty nine and itís going to be a good one because
it is the weight loss for our children, and starting with this I want to do a few shout
outs to some youth and to some young adults. I have got Kristen Harla from Florida, and
Callie Hanes from Ohio, I have got Stacy Yarborough from California, and Sofia Waite from California,
you are on Facebook hello! And let us all give a good hand of applause for these youth
that are sticking to it and going for it, and I just want to encourage you to not give
up. Today is about weight loss for children and
your obvious examples, the ones we just shouted out to, to the world that it does work for
the youth, in fact it is the most essential thing that parents need to be teaching their
children, it cannot be left out of parenting, and itís almost easier for these kids to
get it than these adults. I like watching them because they will respond more quickly.
Now I want you to watch this video from Zion Kids that will give you hope if you have a
child that is struggling, here is hope for your child.
Zion Kids: Video Clip
GWEN: Okay, that is just little piece of some of the kids that I know, that have turned
to God
and
put it into practice and lost their weight, or laid down any vice that was something that
they wanted to lay down. Okay, we have got a lot of questions on children,
and April Allen on Facebook from Tennessee, she asked us if we had any advice on how to
help teens with weight loss, and then she wanted to know ìHow in the world do you do
this because I need to let my child know that it is a sin but I do not want to condemn them
in a harmful wayî, and then I also saw Vicky Gonzales from Louisiana and she was wanting
to know if anyone can help her and her children like even getting up here, would they find
Desert Oasis as exciting as she would, you know can kids come, and the answer is yes,
yes! Her children are twelve and ten and I know that seeing other children that are here
this summer, that are doing it would be beautiful, come at any time but Desert Oasis is also
a great time to come. So, before I, you know, go any further I want
to bring on today Candace Anger` and she is our co-host, letís give her a hand.
CANDACE ANGER`: Love you!! GWEN: Love you!
CANDACE: I cannot believe I get to be back, thank you for having me.
GWEN: Please, oh my goodness! CANDACE: This is so awesome!
GWEN: You are a great co-host andÖ. CANDACE: I love this!
GWEN: It is a lot of fun, and what have we got today?
CANDACE: Well, I have got some exciting announcements but I cannot wait to hear the answers to the
questions, so I do not want to take a lot of time, but just you know we have a couple
of announcements about the online contest so stay tuned until the end so you can hear
about that, but I feel like the most important thing, just in case someone has to go back
to their desk for lunch, is that this weekend, on Sunday, is the first orientation for the
Facebook class, the ìYear in Journeyî, so three thirty on Sunday we will be doing a
chat on the Weigh Down MinistriesÖ. GWEN: And it is the orientation for the next
level? CANDACE: For the next level, and that is the
Exodus out of Egypt Change series soÖ. GWEN: Some are splitting off and going to
another level class together while we still have the new people coming on, and we do have
a lot of new people coming on. I want to say a shout out to all the new people that keep
joining it does not stop! CANDACE: Right.
GWEN: The group is growing and it has got to be the most exciting thing on Facebook
that there is! CANDACE: It is amazing, and for the new people
you can jump into the, I think you had said they could just goÖ.
GWEN: Basics. CANDACE: Basics, but still join us on Sundayís
for the chat time, and we will be there together, and for those of us that are going on to the
Change Series andÖ GWEN: Basics is not that basic.
CANDACE: No GWEN: Basics is deep.
CANDACE: Yes. GWEN: Honestly, if you are able to jump to
another level, honestly its got it all in there, it is a big package.
CANDACE: It really is. GWEN: Okay, so this Facebook thing is stillÖ.
CANDACE: Itís amazing, and a lot of people are getting the downloadable materials too
they are not even getting the paper workbook, but you can get it right on your computer
or your iPhone or right there andÖ. GWEN: Wow!
CANDACE: I know, it isÖ. GWEN: You just have it right there and you
goÖand then the chat, tell us about the chats, what is that like?
CANCACE: Okay, F. U. N.! GWEN: Awwwww!
CANDACE: No, okay, it is the fun-est thing, Elizabeth Hannah, your daughterÖ.
GWEN: Okay. CANDACE: I mean, I do not know whereÖ.
GWEN: I know she is a riot, for one. CANDACE: And the wisdom that has been passed
down, obviously she has yourÖI feel like the biggest thing I have learned is she has
your spirit, that spirit of no legalism, the spirit of wisdom, the spirit of fun, the spirit
of encouragement. GWEN: Ohhh!
CANDACE: And so she is in there and we are all sitting aroundÖthe coordinators are all
kind of sitting around her at a table, and so as we see your post, you know, she will
go so and so you take this one you would be good at answering that one, you know, and
then if we have a question we kind of bounce it off her, and so we really feel like you
are getting the best answer, and so you are having the Weigh Down staff, the trained Weigh
Down staff answering your questions, which is super fun!
GWEN: Yes, the guys there have lost all their weight, and they truly care, they truly love.
CANDACE: It is neat, and right at three thirty Elizabeth does a post, and she will kind of
like start a thread and then we all post under the thread, and then she will come back in
and post something else and we all post, andÖfor an hour it goes crazy, it is soÖhonestly
its one of the highlights of my week, I love it!
GWEN: I love it, I love it, I love looking at it and reading, it is amazing! Well, and
kids can get on there right? CANDACE: Definitely,†a lot of youth on there.
GWEN: Do not be shy, I mean the youth that are coming out, that are powerful for God,
are amazing, and do not be shy ask your questions, you know, get your questions answered, that
is what itís all about. CANDACE: Definitely, and I forgot Elizabeth
said too, that if they want to post their questions even an hour before.
GWEN: Oh fun! CANDACE: We always get on Facebook early and
so we can go back in and scan them through and start answering even before, you know
right at that opening post, so. GWEN: Well, you have got an incredible crowd
that is sacrificing, you know, their afternoon time to come in there andÖbut they absolutelyÖit
is the highlight, I think most of them say, of their week, so they love it and they love
you so keep it up. Okay, well do we have some guests today?
CANDACE: Well in fact we do we have two teenagers who just adore this message, adore you, they
know their lives have been changed from Weigh Down. We have got sweet Maxine Whitney who
has lost almost, just shy of sixty pounds, and she is nineteen years old but more importantly,
obviously the relationship with God, a reflection of that. Then we have Paul Watson who many
of you know he has lost forty pounds, his mother has lost over two hundred pounds!
GWEN: Wow! CANDACE: So, we have got Paul here, he has
lost forty pounds since November. Just, they are full of love for God from what they have
been taught here. GWEN: Well without further delay letís bring
them on up, come on up guys. Letís give them a hand, come on up guys. Oh so sweet, thank
you for joining us and have a seat. This is awesome, awesome, awesome, oh my goodness.
Maxine I am going to start with you because I just remember this last year watching you,
you already looked tall but you were kind of looking taller because you were getting
thinner, and all of a sudden you look up and you have lost sixty pounds. It was the most
amazing transformation, and this was all going on, I think what your senior year, or your
first year of college? MAXINE WHITNEY: End of my senior year, first
year of college. GWEN: End of yourÖyes tell us about that.
MAXINE: It has been the most incredible year of my entire life. I started Weigh Down when
I was in sixth grade, 2004, and I lost a little bit of weight, and I was still growing, and
so it kind of all balanced out, but then my heart never fully changed so I gained all
my weight, and the summer of 2010 I weighed my highest at almost 200 pounds, and I was
also going through other heart things, and in NovemberÖMarch 2011 I finallyÖGod just
completely humbled me after that year of tortured obedience half in and half out, and humbled
me completely, and I just confessed so much to my parents and got completely under authority,
and then in the past year I lost thirty pounds that summer, twenty pounds my freshman year
at college and now down sixty pounds. GWEN: It is amazing, and that is a very exciting
thing for all of the other youth out there that are thinking I cannot do this, and most
people in their freshman year of college gain the freshman twenty, and you have managed
to lose notÖlike would be like losing forty so to speak because you avoidedÖnot only
did you avoid all those temptations because you are out on your own andÖyou know itís
not the cafeteria line at school, you know, but the freedom that you have driving around
going into...and then the stress that you have that first year of college, people will
use that food to just, you know, they think itís going to calm their nerves. But you
have managed to do both, that is amazing, and then also tell them about this, how once
you started getting everything right, got rid of halfhearted Christianity and doing
it all the way with God, all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, then God came back
in and awarded you an amazing, itís one of the highest honors at Brentwood High School
what was that, the title of that? MAXINE: It is called the James C. Parker award,
and it was awarded to one boy and one girl of the graduating class for academic excellence
and service to school and community. GWEN: And you got it, and the teachers vote
this one in. MAXINE: The teachers, faculty and staff.
GWEN: And I heard that you got like a unanimous choice for the girls, and that isÖ I knowÖdid
you connect the dots? MAXINE: It is all God; it is all God and obedience.
GWEN: The obedience, did you connect the obedience and the reward? That is what we have to do
is keep connecting those dots, and you know when it is God because only God could have
done that. It is a lot of kids in that graduating class, what was it like five hundred, four
hundred? MAXINE: We had a smaller class it was like
three fifty or so. GWEN: Three fifty, that is not a small class,
you know, but that is amazing, that is amazing, so okay Mr. Paul tell me about your situation.
PAUL WATSON: Well like Maxine, I heard about this message when I was about probably in
sixth grade. My mom went to the Desert Oasis in ninety nine, and I believe a few years
prior to that to, so ìofficiallyî I went to a Weigh Down Advanced class in 2001 and
lost a little bit of weight, but being young I thought I was, you know, I thought that
I knew better than my parents and everything like that. So I did my own thing and I gained
my own weight back, and was a very, very slow learner, but fast forward to November 2011,
God definitely humbled me and showed me that I needed to make that change, and it had to
be a whole hearted obedient change, it could notÖit had to be on the inside just like
the outside, and once I changed the inside it reflects on the outside. So just putting
that into practice and knowing thatÖjust getting humble, you know, being under my parents
authority, and not trying to be my own, my own person. That made all the difference,
and laid down pride, which then helped me get rid of the weight, and everything like
that. GWEN: And you did experience some, just like
trying anti-authority and on your own a little bit, and you know do you recommend that for
the youth? PAUL: Please do not do that, itís not good,
authority is a beautiful thing, God set it up for a purpose.
GWEN: It is amazing isnít it? That itís something the world thinks of asÖso I guess
they think that it completely squashes your own personality, your own goals in life, but
it actually is just a personalized free life coach that is getting information from the
heavens to give to you to help you be the very best that you can, and what people maybe
cannot pick up on right now, these two right here (pointing to Maxine and Paul), some of
the happiest people on the planet! I mean always serving, always happy to do it, always
pleasant, no wonder the teachers voted you, and Paul you are just like amazingly encouraging
to everyone right now getting up and speaking, and you know how happy are you? Can you measure
it? PAUL: No, I mean I have not been this happy
in my life. GWEN: Now, how old are you?
PAUL: I am twenty-two years old. GWEN: Twenty-two, and never been that happy
at twenty-two. I can tell you there are so many confused kids out there and they do not
know their major, they do not know what they want to do, they do not know where they are
going, they are out there going, you know, ìI do not know who I am.î and behind the
scenes when they slow down they do not wind up drinking too much, and sleeping that part
of their life away, and then getting up and being late for work or whatever, and then
miserable and waiting until they drink again or whatever their escaping with. If they slow
down long enough and they still realize they are miserable, and yet you are experiencing
happiness and joy, and itís just all over you, you know, it is so beautiful.
So, tell me about how you all feel in terms of just being able to have a purpose because
it is a transfer, not only did you just lose the weight, but also what did you fill back
up with? MAXINE: Its absolutely incredible, like you
said, the joy isÖyou cannot describe it, you cannot describe this feeling of being
able to have answered prayers, and a relationship with God, and itís become so clear being
connected to God and not being connected, and just like you said all those kids out
there who are lost and confused and hurting, and I am able to get on my knees and pray
and go to my authorities, and I have realized that I hated my authorities. I had so much
hate in my heart for my parents, and I realize now that they are the funnest people in the
world and I love them so much, and they are so wise and I never realized that before because
I was so full of pride, and itís so peaceful to just let go of control.
Just let go of worry, and to be able to listen to the truth and the music, the music was
my biggest thing. If you have not hooked up to the music of Remnant Fellowship, all the
musicians, Michael Shamblin, his YouTube, everything, you need to listen to that because
it will convict you every time, and it will lift your spirits, andÖ
GWEN: There are some powerful words there, isnít it?
MAXINE: There are some powerful words. GWEN: I do not know if they can click onto
the website of YouTube, and maybe show what that is butÖit is Michael Shamblin YouTube,
is that what you type in? Go ahead Candace. CANDACE: You type in www.youtube.com and then
once you get on the home page and search, or put on Michael Shamblin with no space between
the first and last name, and it pulls up, and then you can listen to videos or hit play
all and it will play them all, so. GWEN: Yeah, well we willÖ.
CANDACE: We are encouragingÖ. GWEN: We will tryÖI think they are trying
to get there now. CANDACE: (agreeing)
GWEN: Can you get it throughÖcan you click something on the Remnant Fellowship at the
bottom of the page and it will take you there? We need a buttonÖ.
CANDACE: Yeah. GWEN: On Weigh Down.
CANDACE: On weighdown.com there isÖ we have thereÖbecause I think the one on weighdown.com
takes you to the Weigh Down channel but I do not think we have the Michael ShamblinÖ
GWEN: Okay. CANDACE: Öchannel connected but you can go
to his website michealshamblin.comÖ GWEN: Okay.
CANDACE: Öand connect from there too. GWEN: Well, and thenÖbut this music is something
that got me through my hardest times, and for one you realize other people are suffering
and somehow you knowÖ I remember the song You Can Never Keep Him Down, Jesus went from
town to town, and you know, all these people would be putting him down but, you know, you
never could keep Him down, and so just being able to identify with that, but then all of
that helps you through and then you get thisÖyou are just building this relationship with God,
and so you can see the contrast of your life before and now, which is to meÖ Both of you
have the same story in that you had a real distrust of authority for a while and felt
likeÖand then what turned you around Paul? PAUL: Well, just going out and making my own
choices and realizing that I had turned into that empty person I had been warned about
so often, you know looking in the mirror and not knowing whoís reflecting back at me,
and not being able to sleep at night because just thinking about all the curses in my life,
and I was getting bigger, and you know I had lost that joy, and I mean when you lose that
Spirit you lose everything! And just realizing that, and realizing I would come to a point
in my life where it was like, you know, I was twenty one years old and I was going nowhere,
and I just remembered how important like being connected to God was. So it really, it really
humbled me, and the test then was to be able to take that humility and go with it, like
go for it and get back under the authorities that I had not trusted, just put God in the
throne where He was supposed to be andÖ GWEN: You got back in church, got back under
the authority of your parents and now you have direction?
PAWL: Yes maíam. GWEN: And the joy came back, it came back
almost immediately didnít it, when you just like turned and repented you could start feeling
it? Hope came back? PAUL: Absolutely, and I mean there is nothing
like it, I mean this connection with God is everything, and I mean to have purpose now,
to wake up and know that your living each day for God it is just incredible!
GWEN: Oh it is amazing, I cannot tell you how much joy it gives me, and all ofÖit talks
about in Ezekiel forty four that it will console you, the actions and the conduct of your children,
and I am just like, the joy that it brings to see a younger generation that are grounded,
more grounded than I was at that age. I was digging and looking but itís like I
was not getting answers from people, so I stayed in the word a lot and kept praying,
ìGod please, please, please.î but if I had had what you have, because you know Paul you
were able to get back on the phone, or look back and see the people that had maybe not
rebelled or were going for it and had gone ahead, and that is one thing, Maxine, you
were able to watch the children that were under their parentís authority and it affects
you, that fellowship, and seeing kids does help doesnít it?
PAUL: Absolutely! MAXINE: Yeah, that was something that helped
me was seeing my friends and their relationship with their parents, and just desiring that
so much. I wanted it so bad, and just praying and praying for it, but for me I did not want
to go through the suffering that confession would bring, that the suffering of the cross,
and finally it got to the point where the suffering of sin was no longer worth it, it
was too much and I willingly embraced the cross, and it was the best decision I made
in my entire life, and I keep doing it every day, just taking that path that at first it
seems like itís going to hurt and its, you know, there is suffering involved, but I know
now that on the other side itís so much better. GWEN: Its happiness!
Max: It is so happy and it is immediately! GWEN: I am still tested, all the time I will
be tested but you now, like you said, you get to the point where it is not a choice.
I do not want to go back I want to go forward, I will accept the suffering, what is with
a little bit of denial, you know, and suffering if that is what we are called to do, you know,
itís wonderful! To go on and say that is our lot, but that suffering is short lived
and then you get that reward back, whereas the short lived joy of going against, or just
trying to live for your own sensual desires, then is there for a second and then the misery
compounds, grows, and you know, and so your living like this oneís going up, up up and
oneís going down, down, down, and then you got this contrast to where you never go back.
These people that are on this rollercoaster you know they cannot get out of the sensual,
and are not you know, they need to wake up and do not go through the suffering.
You are not going to find another way out but the way of God, God is genius, God is
perfect, He has made your bodies and itís so important, it talks about in Deuteronomy
six where you know you willÖif you teach your children when they are coming, teach
your children when they are going, train them all the time. If parents would start from
the smallest age all the way up, teaching them that you need to obey mommy this is the
best way, what happens when you do not obey? Oh that is not good, disappointment, and get
it instilled in them, train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he
will not turn from it, and the parents have put enough in to you.
Even though you might have had some years of rebellion you came back around, and, but
it isÖthe parents can do a lot here, because you go, ìWhat can I do? How do I teach these
children?î you know, use whatever you want to. I mean this is good, this isÖbad children
know good and bad, and they know if you say, you know, ìOh you disappointed mommy.î You
know then they do not want to disappoint you, they do not, and the worse thing about them
ever getting in trouble is the disappointment. You do not under estimate your ability to
beÖto show your disapproval, because in that disapproval God has instilled in the children
a desire for, you know, that approval, and so that isÖthe parentís cannot give it to
the child until the child does right, or they are denying themselves, they are denying their
own morality, and so itís natural for the parent to beÖand you do not get along and
then you finally do what is right then you are best friends with your parents, you desire
their company and you want to be around them, and you can go back and see what they were
doing was trying to help you, but with the children I mean you knowÖ Candace can go
over a lot of the, all the different tools that we have, and I do no.t think we have
enough here. I mean its scattered, it is almost like, I will do a talk and then there will
be like one paragraph, you know, on parents and their children, and I need to gather all
those paragraphs together and do, you know, one, but there is still quite a bit of material
here that will help you in knowing exactly what to teach your children, because you need
to do it with them, and then I know T.L.E. (The Last Exodus) was created and it has testimonies
of children all the way through young children to older children, but the main thing to know
is that you have to associate it with God. God wants this, I notice when I tell my children
and the grandbabies now what to do theyÖI am always including ìThis is what God wants,
this is what God wants.î when I am whispering to them, ìThis is, you know, this will make
God happy, this will make God smile.î and you cannot believe how instinctive it is in
these children to want to please God, it is amazing!
So, you cannot leave that out and you cannotÖthey have to understand that there is a path to
get Godís approval and you need to stop majoring in minors, I mean, when things do not matter,
or you know, there are things you want to correct but itís not that big of a deal,
that you need to sit down parents and write down your priorities of what is a big deal,
and their relationship with God, they are living not for themselves but for the glory
of God is a very big deal, a very big deal, and you are going to wind up with some very
unhappy children if you are emphasizing academics and sports, and their gifting for themselves,
and if you want more of that information you need to tune in this Saturday at nine, because
there is going to be a very clear message on what we should be doing in terms with emphasis
with children, and the outcomes, the sad outcomes if we mix it up.
There are plenty of cases of sad outcomes of kids right now, I mean you can it isÖthere
are very sad stories out there, but you know, I know that if we as a community can continue
to put God first and then teach them how to put God first, and you need to be eating correctly
because they, it says in Exodus that it will be passed down to your children, that whatever
you adore is going to be passed down, so you yourself need to make the transfer.
These kids made the transfer, they transferred their relationship with the refrigerator over
to a relationship with God, and they want to please God more than themselves. Here is
the tongue and here is the stomach, and you need to please what God wants, and they cannot
just have sweets all the time, no you cannot have that, you know that is not what God wants,
that is not good for your body, you cannot grow properly, you know, so you are not there
to justÖthey have learned how to whine toÖand they have just the right pitch, each parentís
child has just the right pitch that gets on their nerves, so what do they want to do?
Just give them what they want, give them what they want, you know, hand them what they want,
but you need to give them what God wants, you know, you need, hear itÖbe in tune to
Godís cry, Godís tears, Godís pain, and what God wants for these kids!
They have been given to you in your presentÖthey are not yours they are Godís children and
you need to make sure you are training them up notÖand the irony is parents think, ìWell
they will not like me if I am, if I hold the line, or if I encourage them this way.î and
see it is the exact opposite! Children do not like the parents that do not hold the
line, and they wind up loving the parents that hold the line! Their parents happen to
hold the line, and when they wanted to rebel itís like, ìOkay but not under my time,
not under my house.î or whatever it might be they hold the line, and so I would tell
Elizabeth, you know, I remember when she, you know, use to ask for more than I thought
maybe she, you know, could use, possibly hold, and I would say, ìOkay, what does your tummy
say?î and she, you know, when she was really little and she didnít understand it, or she
knew that she would say, ìMy tummy wants it.î and I knew at that point like no sheÖitís
not her tummy itís you knowÖbut I would teach her the food is going to be there, God
will provide, I mean you know, no one is going to eat it, it is yours it will be there tomorrow,
so it took the panic away, and then I like zipped it up, write her name on it, and then
get her distracted, she would go out and play or whatever and then all that disappeared,
and so she has been able to go through multiple pregnancies and always losing her weight so
she is in tune to what the bodyís calling for.
So, you know, we have got to go in there and parents do not be afraid to bring God into
this, because God is the reason, God is the answer and the reason these young adults here
are happy is because they have now got a relationship with God, and they are getting all their prayers
answered and they love their parents! What more is there now?
You have got that, you know, if you all marry and then have kids you have gotten generations
that are all turning to God and the whole crowd is getting blessed, and so there is
a lot of hope, there is a lot of hope in my heart because of a generation coming up like
you guys. They are amazing arenít they? Praise God for this! Praise God, I praise God! So,
well Candace what do you have as far as tools for these parents?
CANDACE: Well, there are a lot of things, I wish they could pull up the website so I
could show them where to go, but if they cannot, on Facebook this morning we posted some of
them, and on the Weigh Down Ministries group page, but The Last Exodus, Gwen did if you
are really looking for something to do with your children The Last Exodus is a great Bible
study, so definitely look for that, The Last Exodus, and when you go into the store the
left hand column there are all these categories and you look for the one that says ìWeight
Loss for Childrenî, and it will pull up that, and then if you go further down there is another
category called ìA New Life in Christî and under that if you mouse over it a drop down,
a menu will come and you can hit ìParentingî and once you hit ìParentingî it brings up
all these otherÖit has Zion KidsÖZion Parenting is basically the overall theme, and then Gwen
did Zion Kids lessons for the parents, and there is also Zion Kids videos if you have
elementary school children, where the kids can pop these in and watch them, they are
like thirty minute focus on God, just wonderful videos, but I really cannot emphasis enough
that if you can get your hands on every single thing that Gwen has done on parenting it will
not come back void I meanÖeven this morning getting ready for the show I pulled out one
of my old workbooks and was reading through it and I thought, ìI should do this once
a month.î and so just getÖall I can say is just get your hands on every singleÖthere
are a couple of audios on there, there is ìFeeding Children Physically and Spirituallyî,
but just get your hands on everything you possibly can, because I just testify everything
she said helps you as the parent, with the motive of your heart of why the kids are doing
things and I justÖI cannot say enough about it.
GWEN: Definitely God uses the children to teach us about ourselves, and then one thing
that will help you lay down food yourself is that panic of, ìWhat if my child?î it
is one thing that you have suffered but, ìWhat if my child has to suffer through all this?î
it is a killer, that thought, but in this message you know with this truth, with this
fellowship there is hope, and so you do not have to, even though you may see your child
veering off the path a little bit you know there is so much support, and so much hope,
and the spirit of God is so strong that these children will get back on that right path.
So, notice that children usually do not lose on the scales but they willÖthen they are
growing, when they are still growing they do not lose on the scales so much because
they areÖit is converting into bone and muscle mass and all that, so as they are getting
taller, but they will, they will maintain their weight but grow taller and they will
slim up, so do not be anxious about a scale, and you can have them get on it every once
in a while just to see if they are continuing to gain you want to curb that, and so you
go back in there and you start showing them small amounts, and these videos will have
examples on there, and you realize you do not need that much, it does not take that
much to run the body, and which is a good thing.
CANDACE: Yes, in The Last Exodus too, I forgot to mention, Gwen has got situations on there
specifically for teens, and kids cafeteria eating, slumber parties, all those things,
so they are great for trouble shooting and all that.
Maxine brought up the music, if you did an mp3 player with all Michaelsí music and that
is what your kiddos were listening toÖ. GWEN: Yeah!
CANDACE: It is so transforming, but before I did want to mention to, that next week we
are going to be announcing the winner of the online Desert Oasis contest, and if you do
not know about that, someone is going to get their way paid to come to Desert Oasis this
summer which is July twenty seventh and the twenty third we will announce the winner,
next week, and then Gwen has been doing a free thirty day trial of Truthstream for anyone
out there, that is also going to end in a week so make sure you get signed up this week
if you want to give it a try, and all these parenting resources are on Truthstream to
make sure you get that today, and then I have a feeling after thirty days you will not know
how you ever lived without it so. GWEN: How do you enter the contest, is it
to late to enter the contest? CANDACE: It is not too late to enter the contest,
what you do is you go onto the Weigh Down Ministries Facebook page and you find a thread,
and we will get itÖso we will bump it up so you can see it right after the show, but
you go on there, it is, Michael Shamblin posted it, and its from a Monday night chat where
he wanted everybody to post their God stories about times thatÖhow God helped them get
to Nashville, so maybe you have already had a story about how God provided money for your
plane ticket or babysitting, and I know Gwen too that kids are coming to Desert Oasis,
you mentioned that earlier too, but you can go on there and post your God story, and the
staff is going to read all of them and they are going to choose one and help someone get
here for Desert Oasis, but kids will be here, there are some fun activities sometimes for
them to do, but most of the children want to sit in for Desert Oasis, they get so much
out of it, so come. GWEN: Awesome, okay do you all, you guys have
anything to say to your peers and you know encourage them to go for it?
PAUL: I just say go all in, I mean what else do you have? I mean, definitely keep going
to the music, unplug from all that stuff on the radio itís so empty and you plug into,
you know, stuff that will point you up to God and it makes all the difference, so just
go for it! GWEN: Beautiful, Maxine?
MAXINE: Yeah, like Paul said just dive in and God will free you from more things than
just weight, like I am free from tons of irrational fears from bugs to roller skating to roller
coasters, like all this stuffÖjust a weight lifted from me and worry about school, and
it is so freeing, and you literally feel like this weight has been lifted from you, plus
you get physical weight. I cannot wait for Desert Oasis it is my favorite
part of the summer and I am so excited to meet everybody, and it is the time of the
life because we are all here glorifying God, we are living a life for God, for His glory,
for His purpose, and He is so gracious to reward us for every little thing that we give
up that it does not even become a sacrifice anymore and it is truly inexpressible.
GWEN: Inexpressible joy! MAXINE: Inexpressible joy!
GWEN: Inexpressible joy, okay that is a tremendous conclusion what more can you say to that?
Letís give these guys a hand one more time; I praise God for you all, and I want you all
to remember that until next week you too can overcome! Praise God for you guys, oh you
are so sweet!
