Hi, I'm Jane from http://www.Blenditandmendit.com where I show you how I turn my VitaMix blender
into my #1 antiaging tool. Welcome.
Today I am making my AntiAging Angela Smoothie because it comes from Angie, who wrote in
and asked when I made the Chocotini Shake (and I'll put that
up here or you to click on,) "Can I substitute avocado for
banana?" Why not? So she sent me in her recipe and in it she says just add half a celery
to the Vitamix, half of a stalk of celery, 3/4 of an avocado.
So, I have a small avocado here. I think I'm going to add the whole thing.
Avocado is such a wonderful fat. It's also full of water,
which I love, and it makes shakes so creamy. There's a half, see, it's a small avocado,
I'm adding that, and I might as well add the other half. And
you're going to see me take many liberties with Angie's recipe,
which is what I want you to do with my recipes. Use them as inspiration to create your own
and get started drinking your greens. It's really not important
that your recipe is perfect, what's important is that you drink your greens.
And then she adds 2 tablespoons of raw, organic cacao powder, well, I just happen
to have some here, and so I'm going to add a couple tablespoons.
Here's one TBS, right into the blender, and here's another one, right into the blender.
Then she says "add 4 TBS of Nectar of the Gods Sweetener",
(will put that link up there for you, too). My Nectar of the Gods
Sweetener is Medjool dates soaked in water. So she's saying add 4 TBS, that's pretty much
what's in here, about 1/4 of a cup, so I'll try to add 4,
but why don't I just add half of it, that's a lot easier, oh, I'm
puting it all in, let's call it 5-6 TBS, can't resist it. And then, 2 TBS of homemade almond
butter and about 2 cups of homemade almond milk.
Well, I've got my cashew butter that we just made yesterday, I'll put
the link to that up here, too. This cashew butter is fantastic, so I happen to have it
and I'm going to use it. You don't have to go crazy and make separate
milk and separate butter. Just take some water, take some nut butter,
there's your nut milk. OK,and she says, 1/4 of a frozen banana. Forgot to freeze my bananas,
so I'm going to put in fresh. Angie, we're gonna whip it up
and see what you've got. Angie says, "Very rich, but at the same time,
not too rich, must be the celery. There's a little hint of avocado but it's nice." I
know it will be, how can we go wrong with these ingredients.
If you've been making smoothies and making them along with me or
on your own, you know this is good stuff. Here we go.
I give that 20 or 30 seconds. I see a creamy chocolate delight. Very delicious. Very creamy,
very light. It's very souffle-like. I can taste a little bit
of the avocado, but, like Angie says, not too much.
Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. Look at that. Okay. This is why I love viewer submitted smoothies.
I get to try so many new things, because, I don't want
to get in a rut either. Thank you so much, Angie, for sending this in.
Lettuce blend and mend together.
