For those of you that have never owned an electro-acoustic guitar,
you will need to know the benefits of, and how to use
a preamp with a built-in tuner.
The A4-T pre-amp system is a powered unit that requires a 9-volt battery
which is inserted here
the built-in tuner is really handy and easy to use
when you first switch the tuner on, the default is auto mode
which means it will auto detect the string you are tuning
If the guitar is badly out of tune, or you have just replaced the strings however,
then you will need to use the note button to manually select the note you would like to tune
The guitar can be connected to an amplifier by the standard guitar Jack
but it can also be plugged into a mixing desk or external recording equipment
via the XLR
when the tuner is being used the outputs are muted
so be sure to turn the tuner off when you have finished tuning.
The sound is amplified by a piezo-electric pickup which is fitted under the saddle
this sends a signal to the preamp so you can then make adjustments to the sound
by using the built-in EQ
once you have plugged the guitar in you can tailor your sound by using the EQ controls
which allow you to make adjustments to the bass, middle, treble and presence, and you also have a master volume control.
