Make up. Bodies.
Crazy diet. Crazier make-up.
Even crazier bodies. Bodies, bodies, bodies.
Bodies you dream to have. Bodies you cannot have.
Bodies so thin you wonder how they're still alive.
What's the problem with the fashion industry? Beauty became accessorised. Beauty comes in
a can, something you can buy. It's been said the principle of capitalism
is the creation of a scarcity. Some scarcities are entirely artificial.
If you would happen to be beautiful without any accessory, you wouldn't need to buy need
anything. Hence to create a fashion market you must
convince people they're not beautiful, unless they consume products and strive to become
the appointed models. The physical ideals created by the beauty
industry are no longer synonymous to health. That is, beauty no longer equals healthy.
1. This body shape is genetically available only to a selected few.
2. It is near impossible to maintain short of a full time activity if you have genetic
predisposition and for a short period in a lifetime.
We place the end goal of success and idealism to an essentially unattainable state of existence.
Granted the general population is dissillusionned by the bodies of the fashion and beauty industry.
However, try not to find someone who does not have any issues with their bodies.
Having a market for things to become and to have is not the problem. You sell TVs, you
can have the TVs. Not having TVs could be undesirable, but you can have the TVs.
It's time to redefine our modern day definition of beauty. There's been thousands of words
invented for it. Which one means the most to you? Tell us now in the comments below.
