>> I'm Elizabeth.
>> I'm Clyde.
>> And this is the story of how we met!
>> Yeah!
>> So it was my first real-person job,
I was ASM-ing a show at Writers Theatre.
>> And it was my last prop job
at Writers Theatre.
>> And ever?
>> Yeah? Just about.
>> And...
I sent a few enthusiastic, overly-enthusiastic,
>> Well! Let's tell them the first, first day.
>> Oh the first, first day?
Oh that is at the first, first day.
I sent some overly enthusiastic emails
to some prop people.
>> Yes.
Um, and then
what was that day that we met?
>> Uh, it was before rehearsals started.
And we were going...
>> Like a prop check.
>> Mhm, we were going through the props that you guys had,
and I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to you
because I was trying to impress David Castellanos
and Nick Heggestad, the Props Designer!
But we totally hit it off!
And I was like, "Oh we'll be buddies!"
>> Yeah I liked you instantly!
[laughing]
>> I liked you too!
>> Yeah I know but I like, liked you!
I was like,
taken, and like,
>> Thank you.
>> Yeah I know!
[laughing] I was so in love with you
when I first met you.
And uh, apparently that was not the same for you.
[laughing]
>> I love you!
I love you now!
>> I know, I know.
I remember, I definitely laughed at all your jokes.
And you laughed at all my jokes.
Which is, that's like a good thing.
>> Yeah!
I knew we'd be each other's show crushes.
Like, very early on.
And I announced that to my friends.
>> Totally showmance!
>> Mhmm, yeah it was great.
Um, so
Showmance, showmance, showmance happened.
There was an instance of us
driving a table
on a cart down the streets of Glencoe.
>> It was THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, so that table was very important.
People had to be thrown on top of it and such.
>> Yeah so, we had to get that damned table
from the Church to the Bookstore!
>> We put a tablecloth over it?
To protect it, and hide it.
>> Mhmm.
>And uh, it was snowy.
>> And we looked ridiculous and it was a very great bonding experience.
>> Ugh, love.
[laughing] And..
>> What else happened?
I don't know? We hung out a lot and we became friends.
>> You broke some props so you could hang out with me.
>> That's just literally not true!
[whispers] That's not true.
>> She broke like a prop every week.
>> No!
I was very responsible!
>> You're not that clumsy!
>> I am an incredible ASM and I do not break props!
>> You are an incredible ASM... >> David I didn't do it!
>> That's true. She is an incredible ASM.
And then um,
I think I bought... I bought you cranberry something?
Trail mix?
>> You bought me Trader Joe's trail mix.
And brought me Diet Coke's during tech week.
>> I mean...
C'mon.
>> And we watched the run right next to each other.
>> We did do that.
>> Ah! Frisson!
>> Yeah!
Yes, that was intense.
>> It was a very intense moment and absolutely nothing happened!
So final preview,
we were the last people in the space.
And we were working for like two hours.
And I knew he was gonna kiss me.
And was
gonna be amazing!
>> Oh no!
>> And we were leaving the space
and
the maintenance person walked in!
And it was like someone threw cold water
over, over everything.
And it was like -30 degrees out.
So that was real cold!
>> It was super stupid cold.
But then!
I asked you if you'd like me to give you a ride to your car.
>> Mhmm.
>> Because it was cold and snowy.
>> Again, -30 degrees.
>> And um,
[laughing] right before you left.
>> I was like,
I don't know, what did I saw exactly?
Do you remember?
Uh, well we had talked about how I had mornings free
so you were like, "Would you like
to get breakfast,"
tomorrow morning..?
>> It was, Sunday yeah. >> Sunday, it was like that Sunday.
>> And we did!
>> And you said yes!
>> And the rest is history and all that!
Now here we are.
With a cat and a apartment!
>> I know! That's intense right?
>> Yeah we're kinda people.
>> Yeah that was good.
We did good!
>> Yeah that's a beginning, middle and end, right?
Not the end!
I hope!
