The corner of a room is often an underutilized asset. You watched us design and build this
house in 150 days, but the work is far from over. We're about to jump into my favorite
part of the process of bringing all this together. Join me for an exclusive look right here on
eHow Home. Corner cabinets can be a handy piece of furniture in a home, particularly
when you don't have a lot of space. They're great for storage and great for displaying
decorative objects that, well, you can use but also look good. Trying to mess around
here a little bit with some colors and plates to sort of reflect the colors in this room.
But, you know, I'm just not feeling it -- I'm not sure. There's lots of different things
we could actually do in here. I love taking a corner cabinet like this and changing it
out for the seasons. For instance, for the harvest season why not place pumpkins on the
shelves? Not a bad idea, huh? So let me tell you about this corner cabinet: Paid 70 bucks
for it, but I had to get Tony to help me with the base -- it needed a little bit of lift.
And, so, I designed this foot and base for it to sit on. It gave it some height. We painted
it white and so it matches the walls. The problem with it matching the walls is that
it really needs something in it that arrests the eye, that makes it really compelling to
look at. And right now we're just not there yet. But it's still early in the design process
of the house. But what I love about this is that you have this little board that runs
across the edge here, across the back in here, and that helps hold plates in place. The other
thing is that there's storage down here in this corner. You know, a dead space in the
corner of room like this is valuable and it should be put to use. And that's why these
corner cabinets have been popular for a long time. It's just something to think about if
you're dealing with a small area and you need some storage. Of course, I'm still not sure
exactly what I'm gonna use in here. But YouTube, if you've got some ideas on what you think
ought to go in this, let me know. I'd love some really unique, clever ideas. And, hey,
