Dear viewers,
I am Beata Hola and I'm the ambassador of the Mikromarkt project
In this short video we want to tell you about the Project.
About the main Idea and the main product.
About the marketing course for women farmers.
Over the last 2 years, partners from eight European countries have designed
a programme for women farmers from
Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary,
Slovenia, Portugal, France and Greece.
This program provides easy-to-understand information on current marketing techniques.
The marketing experts of the Austrian University of Applied Sciences
and the farmers will tell you more about it now.
Enjoy the film.
Welcome to the marketing campus in Wieselburg.
Our campus is part of the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt, which is the main campus.
and we're located in the heart of Lower Austria - in the beautiful Mostviertel.
This area has a great agricultural tradition.
Agricultural products have always been marked directly here.
The area is known for its culinary specialities, its wine taverns
and you can also experience the farming life
Just spend a
holiday on a farm.
The University of Applied Science have experts
who deal with food production and are
specialized in marketing innovative concepts
to create an added value for the region.
Our specialists participated in this project
and shared their expertise.
We hope that our project will help create
new products, especially for the food industry,
which are suitable not only for on-farm sales, but also
for cooperations with the food retail industry.
We want to motivate women farmers
to go ahead and realize their great ideas
and help boost their value.
I am Astin Malschinger
and I am pleased to have been part of this project.
Dear viewers, my name is Joef Farthofer
I am responsible for business administration and organic business
here at the University of Applied Sciences
Also, I run my own business,
a distillery.
Ever since Austria became a EU member,
it has developed into a country of gourmets
in terms of organic food products
and regional specialities in general.
One main reason for this development is related
to Austria's geography.
Our farmers have had to create great products
to meet the needs of our local consumers
and gourmets and connoisseurs,
rather than producing for the mass market.
And I feel that we've been very successful
with our concept and our farmers
in the direct marketing sector in Austria.
My name is Andrea Grimm
I am one of the authors and project leader of Mikromarkt.
This programme has been designed to support
women farmers who wish to produce and sell local products
We offer them key marketing skills,
using a tool called Mikromarkt.
This course addresses female farmers
and is designed as an online marketing course,
which can be adjusted to the farmer's individual working hours.
Its key goal is to enhance the farmer's marketing skills.
This is essential, because local specialities
have become highly popular -
local or regional specialities, that is
especially for
the so-called micro-producers. There is great demand
in this sector, and that is why we've developed this fantastic tool.
One of the most important
aims of the marketing programme is this:
We would like women farmers
to have the tools to improve their high-quality
products, and, at the same time
add more value
to their farms and
so create a sustainable
financial basis.
My name is Gernot Zweytick,
I wrote the chapter on troubleshooting and problem resolution.
It deals the food production
and the errors that may occur during the production process.
This part includes a checklist,
which is designed to help the direct marketer,
that is, the producer, to quickly identify mistakes,
and to find possible solutions for these errors.
In other words, the checklist helps
find the causes of the error(s)
and suggests how to
either prevent or
fix the problem in the existing product.
It is important that you are convinced of what you do,
and that you enjoy eating the food you plant and cook, which you also offer to your customers.
If that is the case, then you're doing great.
I think it's vital to find out what exactly it is you want.
And to identify my preferances.
Just do what you enjoy doing.
You should have fun with it and be interested too.
This process never ends, and you
never stop moving or trying.
