Hi there I'm Max Eberle and I'm back with another break and run in 8 ball and I'm gonna
walk you through
how to run a rack and how to decide on what shots
whether to shoot stripes or solids
and we're gonna start with the break
again you want a solid bridge hand, I keep going back to that theme
especially when you're breaking from the bed of the table
I like to break close to the center
and it's all about keeping your line of aim. Grip, I wanna keep it real tight
when I'm lining up, and then I relax it a little when I'm down here
Real solid bridge hand, relaxed grip, and I'm kind of holding it up here
in my front fingers, whereas I'm normally holding it in my ring finger and middle finger
mostly
I just want to focus on generating power through the cue ball
and that's one reason I'm gonna look at the cue ball last
Because if you did your work to line up, you should be able to stay on that line
K almost made this
2
so I did!
So we get to stay at the table...
K the 3 is funny cuz I
can only make it up in that corner
Past the 4, or if the 4 ball is gone it will go up here
ah the six only goes here, it might squeeze in past the 12
and these
balls are kind of tied up
the 11 goes in this pocket
but it's tough, you gotta be right in here
maybe back here shoot it off the rail or you gotta be thin on the ball
the 15 is laying real funny
so right now the stripes... they are both looking pretty tough
no matter what you choose
and there is no good opener, I could cut the 3 right now
or I could try to make the six
past the 4 or actually go off the rail
hit the 4 and then go into the pocket
lets see if we have a carom
5 ball carom off the one possibly
just looking at it i don't really like that shot
okay so solids are pretty tough
at least I've got stripes, a couple of easy shots here
thats a plus
My main focus will be getting to this fifteen as soon as possible and and then
the eleven
It's a pretty good shot over here
and then I can get over here for the fifteen, although I can do more if i'm off the rail, i could make it
then back out
but i'm being blocked by that fourteen, i don't think I can quite
get over there off of the thirteen right now
because if the fourteen wasnt there I'd actually try to get this fifteen out of the way
immediately
and the 10 ball is being blocked
its even being blocked out up there so I'd have to clear out that 14-ball
k, so...
a lot of decisions, I really don't like those solids
I'm gonna focus now on my strategy
to run out for the stripes
In my opinion its almost always better to just go for the run out because once
you get good at this
you are
gonna run out even in tough situations
K if I do
float over there the 12 ball is there
