NASHLAH: Welcome to BuzzBooster TV.
SHAHAR: I’m Shahar.
NASHLAH: And I’m Nash and we’re committed to being your marketing GPS.
SHAHAR: Yes. Well you know what we’re going to talk about today?
NASHLAH: What?
SHAHAR: A little bit about online videos and what are the reasons for you to use them.
You know an interesting thing in behavior happens right now.
NASHLAH: What?
SHAHAR: The way people search online. Now today when we talk about online videos I want
you to pay special attention to You Tube.
NASHLAH: Okay.
SHAHAR: Because what happened in the last years is You Tube is becoming just a huge
search engine. For you to have an idea it has more searches for you daily then Bing
and Yahoo.
NASHLAH: Wow!
SHAHAR: Some people say that by 2011 it will surpass Google in the number of searches.
So it’s just a humongous amount of people going there every day…
NASHLAH: Searching for stuff.
SHAHAR: Yes. Now what happens is, when somebody knows what they really want, so they are looking
for a solution to a specific problem and they know what they want, they go to Google and
they type the search there.
NASHLAH: Okay.
SHAHAR: Okay. But when they don’t know exactly what they want, when they are researching
for something, where they are not sure whether they should buy “A” or “B”, guess
where they go?
NASHLAH: You Tube.
SHAHAR: They go to You Tube for that.
NASHLAH: Okay.
SHAHAR: Okay.
NASHLAH: You know that’s quite interesting, so basically if they know what they want,
if they have it in their minds this is it, “X”, “Y”, “Z”, blah, blah, blah,
they go to Google.
SHAHAR: Yes.
NASHLAH: If they know that they want something but they’re not exactly what it is, or how,
or how many or whatever it is, then they’ll go to You Tube.
SHAHAR: Yeah. Let me give you an example of that.
NASHLAH: Yeah. That’s exactly what I was going to ask you.
SHAHAR: So for example, I like to make art dolls.
NASHLAH: Uh-huh.
SHAHAR: And I like to buy art dolls.
NASHLAH: Yeah.
SHAHAR: So if I know exactly what I want I might go online and type something like clay
art doll.
NASHLAH: Okay.
SHAHAR: Or Jet Johnson (ph) that is a big doll maker, or doll.
NASHLAH: Okay.
SHAHAR: Then I will find what I want and I will go and buy it.
NASHLAH: Got it.
SHAHAR: So let’s pretend I don’t know exactly what I kind. I want to buy an art
doll but I have no glue exactly what kind of media the doll will be made of or the name
of the artist. What will I do?
NASHLAH: You’ll go to You Tube.
SHAHAR: And I’ll type art dolls and then I’ll see all the options.
NASHLAH: Okay.
SHAHAR: See the difference.
NASHLAH: Now would that prompt you to buy?
SHAHAR: Well, if the video is done right and shows both sides of the equation and has some
kind of call to action you know it will help. The least the person will get is more awareness
and visibility for their business.
NASHLAH: Well they’ll know that you’re out there.
SHAHAR: If it’s done right they will also be able to get some action out of it.
NASHLAH: Yes.
SHAHAR: Okay. So what else?
NASHLAH: What else?
SHAHAR: Well let me tell you how a profession could be used in You Tube.
NASHLAH: Okay.
SHAHAR: Okay. For example authors.
NASHLAH: Yeah. Actually that’s a good idea, yeah, I want more specific really.
SHAHAR: Um-hum. So let’s supposed I’m an author and I have a book published. Well
as an author you probably know that 90% or the work will be marketing that book and that’s
up to you.
NASHLAH: Well that’s the thing, that’s what most authors don’t realize.
SHAHAR: Yeah.
NASHLAH: They think that the big trouble is writing the book. They don’t realize that
really, that was the easy part.
[LAUGHTER]
SHAHAR: Now promoting that book is another thing.
NASHLAH: That’s right.
SHAHAR: And the publisher will not do that for you. So you have to create awareness for
you book and for yourself. Hopefully, that doesn’t take 10 years to do that, that’s
another reason for you to use videos and especially pay a lot of attention on You Tube. Well first
thing, you can create the book trailer about your book. A really cool book trailer about
your book and create visibility for the book itself.
NASHLAH: Sort of in concert to what you see with a movie trailer; basically, something
to give them a preview, a taste of what’s to come.
SHAHAR: Exactly. Then you can have videos talking about yourself, you the author. What
about you? What triggered you to write that book?
