It's been such an eye-opening week and it's
been great to be surrounded by so many positive people
around me, really outstanding people that really typify
and personalise for me the type of amazing system
that the VET sector within Australia here is.
It has been great to actually meet other
people that are in my category and doing
similar things to what I am doing.
I've grown so much even in just this week, not just in
the last four months and meeting a lot of people and
from different cultures and backgrounds and ages as well,
it's been great. I love it.
Being able to share my story with other people
and realising that when I go back to my state of
South Australia that I'm in a powerful position to be able to
emphatically endorse vocational education and training.
Training awards are terribly important because they
recognise quality in vocational education and training.
It's a way to showcase the work that you
do and really a veto.
It's not about us being a large training provider
and being a training factory.
It's about the lives that we affect.
You have to be amazing in your own right to get to
this point right now and to be alongside these guys,
it's just been the best experience of my life so far.
Far too often university is celebrated as the pathway
or the most important pathway.
So to the extent that the Australian Training Awards
helps to address that in some way helps to get the
message out there and helps to tell the story better.
It's critical.
It showcases what we actually do.
You know, we look at the apprentices, we look at
VET in schools, we look at the teachers, big business,
small business.
So it sort of shines a light on a lot of work that goes
unnoticed and it really puts it out there.
It's something I'm so passionate about because
it's brought me so much further ahead in
my career aspirations.
It's given me a passion for what I want to do in life
and that's something I want to give the opportunity
to other people to tell them about it.

your business or registered training organisation
