Hi I'm Billy Kidd here at Expert Village and we're going to talk about the dime defense.
You've still got five people up here that you can get to create a rush on your quarterback,
or to drop extra people. One thing that can happen with this, that you, you can do, you
can also do a cover one zone. And that zone would be, maybe, you know, maybe you're down
on the twenty yard line going in, so you don't have quite the length of field to work with,
but you can take all these guys: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, defenders right
here, you have some skilled and pass, in defending the pass, and you've got a 55 yard wide field
here, and you can divide that field up into drop zones where they're covering certain
areas of the field so that they can defend zone wise against whatever receiver comes
their area. Wherever he comes, there's a body close to him right here. And then you've got
one safety here to play over the top. So you can do a one, cover one, with a zone underneath,
or you can do a cover one with a man underneath.
