Hi there, today I'm gonna talk to you about
gender identity and sexuality, cause I think it's pretty important and needs
discussing. Now, most people are pretty confused about gender identity already
just the idea, the concept of it, so how
about I show you this "so what exactly is
gender?" "gender,
it's not what you think it is" "tell me"
"complicated" "I'm smart
I can understand it"
"really complicated"
"people assume that gender is a strict progression of male to female
when in actual fact, from a non-binary, non-judgemental viewpoint
it's more like a big ball
of wibbly wobbly
gendery bendery
stuff
so was that good? did that help you understand it?
probably not
I'll explain it with ice cream
The comic is called Toppings: a comic about *** orientation, so let's see how this helps explain things
now let's pretend that ice cream toppings represent gender
some people like chocolate syrup and others like sprinkles
Heterosexuality is the attraction to the opposite gender (sprinkles + chocolate syrup)
and homosexuality is the attraction to the same gender
so I'm pretty sure you already knew that
now some people like sprinkles AND chocolate syrup. This DOESN'T mean they're greedy
and it doesn't mean they want to eat evERY SINGLE ICE CREAM CONE EVER
sometimes they'll pick sprinkles and sometimes chocolate syrup
Bisexuality is the attraction to both genders
if chocolate syrup and sprinkles represent the two binary genders, male and female, there are many other NON-binary genders
that don't really get talked about but are just as important
some people like ALL of the toppings, pan/omnisexuality is the attraction to all of the genders binary or non-binary
they don't consider gender connected to attraction
some people like sprinkles, cherries and gummy bears, and others like everything EXCEPT for peppermint.
Polysexuality is the attraction to SOME genders but not all of them
people who are polysexual can be attracted to any combination of both binary and non-binary genders
this can include one, or both, or neither binary gender.
there are some people who don't like ice cream altogether, regardless of toppings. This doesn't mean they haven't found the right ice cream yet.
it just means that some people don't like ice cream and will never like ice cream
Asexuality
*WINKWINK COUGH NUDGE HINTYHINTHINTER GOBBLEGOBBLE WINKWONK COUGH*
is a lack of or low *** attraction.
Demisexuality is the attraction to someone once a stable emotional bond is formed
Grey Azexuality is an orientation in which *** attraction does occur, but only occasionally
some people who identify as Grey Ace experience *** attraction but not a sex drive
others experience *** attraction AND a sex drive, but not enough to act upon
if you saw someone eating an ice cream you DON'T like, would you run over and tell them what they like is wrong?
or try to force them to eat the ice cream that you like?
hopefully you answered "no" just there
cause people are attracted, and not attracted to many different genders and all of these attractions are
FINE
so enjoy your ice cream, or don't, and, if you prefer, just wear the cup as a silly hat!
now, gender identity is expressed up here in the brain; gender identity can go from male to female to genderqueer (which is in the middle)
it's kind of neutral
this part right here, your whole body, is your gender expression, masculine, feminine and androgynous
which is also a neutral. now biological sex which is down there
male, female and intersex, I'm fairly sure we all know what this means
and this part right here, in the heart, the *** orientation
heterosexual homosexual asexual bisexual
and all those things that you've just seen
DO YOU MIND?? I AM TRYING TO FILM
right, so I can't be certain whether or not there;s anyone in the LGBTQIA community watching this video, so
if anyone watching this fits any of the descriptions I've just given you
don't be afraid of what anyone's going to say
just keep shining
and
let your flag fly high
