At the Students’ Union it’s your first place to meet new students doing the same thing that you are.
Or even doing something completely different – so meet new friends, find out what they’re doing,
you can find out about clubs, sports teams, societies – If you’ve got an interest, here’s the place
to find more people that are doing the same things that you wanna do.
I think that it’s really great that students have got somewhere to come to talk about their experience
and kind of shed a different light onto their experience rather than the lectures and degree side of it.
It is kind of more friendly and more on their level.
Within the union we have a student voice system so we have school reps for our undergraduate and postgraduate
students within each school and we have course reps on each course as well and they all feed back into the executive
officers on the committees we sit on just making sure representation is heard across all different levels and different
subjects and fields.
What I like best about the union is seeing students getting involved and fighting for something that they love,
whether that’s fighting for something on their course that want to do or fighting for a political cause they want.
It’s fun when you come here - you can play pool, play board games, use the computers, speak to full time officers
or get any advice.
