The next plugin is an Expander. An Expander basically lets me expand the sound. It let's
me take a certain sound from a certain DB level and turn it up to whatever I want. So,
what I'm going to do is I'm going to go into my plugin settings and look at my inserts.
Go to Dynamics and Expander. Now, what it's going to do it's going to allow me to change
the gain on what I'm working with. Now, what I can do is I can go to crisp up. High expansion
and more punch. This is going to help expand certain tracks that might need it. It does
exactly what it says. What it's going to help you do, is try to expand the sound and make
it more present within your mix. There's other things you can also do to achieve the same
type of effects. Like, such as compression and limiting. But, expanding does it a little
bit differently with the frequencies and it sounds a little bit more crisper. And, has
a pretty good effect on a lot of different vocals and instruments. And, definitely with
drum loops and older sounding things that might come from different mediums. Such as,
record players or eight tracks or cassettes.
