Hello Undertoads. It is I, Amanda, and lately I can't get enough of 3D puzzle games. Normally
I enjoy games with complex stories and crazy explosions, you get the picture. However when
Steam had it's sale over Christmas break one of the most fun games I purchased had to be
the one I'm about to share with you. Are you ready to have your world rocked? Well get
prepared to be rushified. And no not by the band Rush, I'm talking about the game for
PC.
So the basis of this game is that you have a solid square which is where your line of
cubes will pop out of and start rolling. You want to get your 3D cubes all the way to the
outline square which is basically your dropbox. The goal is to do that but to use the little
arrow boxes at the right space on your 3D grid to guide that cube into the finishing
square.
The different arrows they throw at you may give you some trouble. But the tutorials you
face in the beginning of the game are very helpful and quickly allow you to catch onto
what you're going to use to win and when.
My favorite of all these puzzles were ones that had multiple squares you had to get to
the finish with. The different colors look phenomenal and I caught myself saying things
out loud like "that's cool as hell" when the bigger puzzles would get solved.
If you are completely stumped, you can easily use hints. They're located in the bottom left
corner of your screen. There are two types of hints. One hint allows you to know what
spaces you have laid down incorrectly and the other hint allows you to know where you're
missing tiles at. These are quick to catch onto if you truly are confused. I found myself
really needing these when I got to the medium level puzzles.
The general environment of Rush is a unique zone. Surrounded by 3 dimensional shapes rotating
around you. Also with your mouse buttons you can move the platform you're working with
in order to view it on a different level or at another angle.
All the features in this game combined together leave you with tons of gameplay time if you
really work hard at it. Rush is along the lines of games like Bejeweled that just keep
you there for awhile, going and going because the puzzle is stimulating that brain inside
your head. Well thank you Rush, for rushing my brain. So far this is one of my favorite
puzzle games I've got on steam to date.
