Here at Gallaudet is a special place, a home for all of us.
Now, recognizing lately that some situations
related to campus vandalism are occuring
For what happened, some reacted positively and negatively
Now what should we do?
Is it your fault?
Or is it my fault? Keep blaming others?
No.
We should work collaboratively and find a way to take action,
take accountability to ensure a safe space for all students.
You can notice repeated elevator malfunctions lately, why?
Many people are entering elevators as soon as it opens, it gets out of control,
until the elevator gets stuck because it is too heavy.
Some people even jump, which causes the elevator to dysfunction.
Think about people who are not able to use the stairs.
If they need to use the elevator and it is defected, that is not fair to them.
Please think of others.
See the sidewalk?
People leave their marks on it, for fun maybe
but think about it, it's the future of our campus. Keep it beautiful.
Here on the property, you can find pieces of broken glass everywhere.
Because some students like to throw stuff around, even from buildings,
just for your enjoyment and fun.
Please don't. Why? Because some people use flip flops and could hurt themselves by stepping on glass.
Or the service animals that are walking through campus could get hurt as well.
Think about these animals and others.
What is that smell?
Ah, of course! The stairs.
Make sure you keep them clean and not throwing trash around.
Same with the lights, sometimes are damaged.
People walking down can't see anything. That is dangerous for other people.
Please take care and respect your surroundings.
Hey, do you mind open the door for me? Please!
No, I will not open it. You need to ask a resident to come down and open it. It's for safety reasons.
Hey, do you mind open for me downstairs please?
Perfect! Thank you. Hurry up.
Here you are! Come this way.
You don't like the rules increasing?
What you need to do is to respect the property. It's safer.
All these destructions of things...
these are some student's fault,
but there are some who are innocent,
leaving the innocent students have to pay for it, when they really could pay on something else.
If people continue to damage everything,
then there will be more policies,
and rules established,
that will burden us.
Do you want that?
Please take responsibility and respect our campus.
All these issues lately, throwing the trash everywhere, causing mess.
No. We have to clean up after ourselves. Take the things to the trash.
Vandalizing? Not necessary.
This is our home, cherish it!
