Ah this take of Efreet is infinitely better than the original video. I said back then that Regal had a hard time against Efreet, but I suspect it was because my SC skills were weaker.
Following up with basic jump kicks was the key to keeping Efreet staggered for longer combos this time around.
CSD was amazing for this fight since it has a nice stagger rate and the second hit normally got the job done for me. It's fast enough for safety purposes even if Efreet is a few frames from attempting an attack.
The spacing with eruptions and his other spells can get in the way though since I forget where my position is on the field a few times. Leads to invisible walls appearing where I didn't expect them.
In retrospect I wish I would of just d. jumped the explosions from a nuetral position.
The reason I jump around so much is for the purpose of finding an opening. My best options were after two punches vs one. Efreet's recovery is slow enough for Regal to land and follow-up.
Ah I get trolled hard here. I was able to avoid Raging Mist on a last second reaction, but I was confident I double jumped the special. Yet the game counted Regal as being in front of Efreet; leading to a near-death experience.
Thankfully I have more than enough TP to finish the job, so I didn't want to take any chances. Putting on the holy symbol was more of a mental relief than a tactical one.
