I'm Debra Olson, Associate Dean and Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health
and I direct the Midwest Center for Lifelong Learning and Public Health which is a HRSA funded Public Health Training Center
music
And what HRSA has allowed us to do in our School of Public Health are three things
one and above all else, we collaborate with our State and local health departments and other
public health professionals; it allows us to reach the next generation of public health professionals
One of the fun activities that we've gotten involved in is creating gaming technology to reach a
millenial as a pathway to public health generation who's interested in learning in very different ways
In fact in the HRSA funded activity "Outbreak Water's Edge", a game that we helped create has been
found on a Japanese blog. So its that bridging between the academies and the community which
HRSA has allowed us to do in the core of public health.
