Samsung laundry pedestals can be used to add extra storage space,
while raising the washer and/or dryer to a more comfortable height.
Follow along with this video to learn how to install and use a pedestal with your Samsung home appliance.
First prepare the washer for attachment. Using two installers place the unit on a protected floor.
Lean the unit back and make sure the legs are turned into the machine completely and locked.
Also, make sure the plastic feet are in the front.
If they are not, the feet must be switched before proceeding.
To prepare the pedestal for attachment,
place the unit on a protected floor to prevent scratches and turn the legs completely up into the frame.
Then, while in its final installation place or as close as possible, pre-level the pedestal on a hard surface.
Push on the corners of the pedestal and if the unit rocks back and forth, make adjustments with a wrench.
Turn the leg clockwise to raise the pedestal, or counter clockwise to lower it.
Once finished, lock the legs with a flathead screw driver.
Finally, prepare the clamps on each corner of the pedestal.
Open the front drawer first, so you can fully open the front clamps.
Then, use a Philips head screwdriver to loosen one screw and completely open all 4 clamps.
For safe and proper attachment, 2 installers are required to lift the washer onto the pedestal.
Make sure the unit's feet fit properly in the pedestal clamps.
If the feet do not fit or the clamp will not close, adjust the unit but never force the clamp, it will break.
Secure all four clamps with the supplied screws. And finally, snap on the matching corner clips over all the four clamps.
If the unit must be moved into its final installation place, cover it with a protective cloth,
situate it on its side on a hand truck and carefully place it down.
To complete the pedestal installation, a vibration test should be performed.
First, use a bubble level to confirm the unit is level.
If it is not, adjust the legs as necessary.
Clockwise to raise the unit, counter-clockwise to lower the unit.
Then, place a few wet bath towels or sheets into the machine,
press start, then press and hold the spin button for three seconds.
This will bypass the rinse cycle and put the unit directly into spin mode.
Within a couple of minutes the unit will go into a high speed spin.
If the unit starts rocking, adjust the legs only a quarter of a turn at a time until the vibration stops.
Once the vibration stops, lock all feet and confirm the unit is level.
