The Frankfurt School of Finance & Management
is one of Germany's leading Business Schools.
It is located in Frankfurt, the financial capital of continental Europe
and a major economic hub.
Our Bachelor programme prepares students for challenging careers in
business, non-governmental organisations and academia.
Our campus is located in the city centre.
It offers great facilities and an ideal learning environment.
All our professors are tested experts in their field.
Our entire faculty is active in research
and lot of them publish regularly in top journals.
That ensures that students always get the cutting-edge in terms of knowledge.
I think what makes Frankfurt School a very special place
are the people that you see here all the time.
And you've got the professors who are really publishing a lot,
who really like the topics they're dealing with, as well as the students,
they're all very eager to learn here.
I think that's what makes it special here.
With almost 50 professors we now have
one of the biggest faculties in Germany in the field of Business and Economics.
And the large faculty combined with small classes
means that professors are always accessible.
Students can ask questions in class but also outside when they have a need.
And that they take care of you individually, you wouldn't have that
chance at other universities or public universities at all.
It has good material and it also has good reputation, nationally and internationally.
I think it gives you a good education, that's why I chose it.
In terms of the structure of the programme, students spend the first
semesters laying the foundations with a number of introductory courses.
They then go abroad for at least one semester.
I've spent my semester abroad in the fifth semester in Dublin.
Right now I'm planning to go for my first semester abroad
to the University of Hong Kong and for the second semester abroad
I would like to go to Harvard or Columbia University in the United States.
I chose to do my semesters abroad at Washington University
in the United States of America,
as well as the National Chengchi University in Taiwan.
When they come back, they have two semesters of advanced study
where they can choose and specialise from a broad range of modules that
we're offering in the fields of Banking and Finance, Managing Organisations,
Business and Society, and Economics.
Frankfurt School is not only about academic quality.
It is also about experiencing business.
Therefore about thirty percent of our classes are taught by practitioners from the outside.
These are senior people with many years of experience
in the field that they are teaching.
In addition, we also use a lot of simulation
and games and other exercises that make sure that
students not only hear about the topics but that they also
get their hands on the issues.
Our FinancialLab enables students to work with
financial data from Bloomberg and Reuters in almost real-time.
For example, we just did a Managerial Accounting
business game where we simulated that we're a medium sized company
and we have to evaluate products and put them on the market and see how the
competitors work with it.
We did quite a big simulation in our Controlling class.
We had to manage a company at a computer and
we had to do all the pricing and we had to
decide what kind of quantities we want to release.
Beforehand we had to do a lot of calculations so that we knew
which kind of a price we want to set and so it was
a good way to learn about strategies.
We also have our students grow as persons
and we're very actively integrating new elements into our curriculum.
Working as team is one of the essential abilities that someone has to have.
It's, I think, one of the important factors for my career.
In a positive way I think at Frankfurt School surprise me most
that you have a lot of students who are really active in
different initiatives or they work for the Student Council or help at
all those events which take place here at Frankfurt School.
Frankfurt School is a very international place.
All of our undergraduate students go abroad for at least one semester.
Some go for two semesters.
And we receive a lot of incoming guest students on our campus as well.
Out of the seven Bachelor programmes,
two are fully taught in English and even the other five
receive parts of their classes in English.
Our faculty also comes from many different countries
and that ensures that all in all, the atmosphere on campus
is really very international.
So I met new friends from South Korea, Iran,
Russia and Spain, and so on.
So from the beginning of your studies you are able to build
a very international network and this helps you for your further career.
Highly skilled workforce is in great demand in Germany.
So the job perspectives for our graduates are really very good.
Our Career Services help students with all matters related to internships
during the programme and work placements, afterwards.
I see myself in a mid-sized international business,
that's why I'm doing the Bachelor IBA.
I would wish to become an economic analyst in a bank or a financial
institution as, for example, the European Central Bank.
I would love to work in marketing.
My professional plans after graduating are probably to do some years
in the investment banking sector and then, probably, moving on to the
corporate sector to, for the long term goal, becoming a CFO, probably.
