Dateline; Russia, about a hundred years ago.
This is Tsar Nicholas Romanov, the latest of the Romanov family to rule Russia and all
of her 130 million people. He has immeasurable wealth, luxurious palaces, an army of servants
and the finest food and clothing.
Pretty good gig, nyet?
He also has a beautiful wife, Alexandra, four lovely daughters -- Olga, Tatiana, Marie and Anastasia.
And he has a son -- Alexei -- who will be the rightful heir to the Romanov throne -- and
continue the Romanov rule over all over Russia-- forever.
But then things started to fall apart. Alexei was discovered to have hemophilia, the bleeding
disease, and that had to be kept hidden from everyone.
Tsar Nicholas' wife Alexandra made friends with a holy man, a mystic named Rasputin -- who
sometimes behaves more like a devil than the man of God he pretends to be.
Monks just wanna have fun!
And the war against Germany began and Russia's losses of men and machines were staggeringly high.
And on the home front, the people of Russia were starving. Mass demonstrations took place
with people asking for food, medicine and jobs.
As Supreme Leader, I find it difficult to believe that some Russians want better living
conditions, jobs, and even a voice in their government!
Why, I've heard rumors that some Russians say that they want to get rid of me and
my family...that Russia needs a revolution...
Heh-heh-heh-heh!!!
How does one of the biggest, most powerful empires the world has ever known crumble in
just a few years? How do small bands of socialists take control over all of Russia? What really
happened to the royal Romanov family?
The Family Romanov is the book for anyone who wants to know the real secrets of the
Russian Revolution, one of history's most pivotal moments.
