Hey it's Travis from RossomeMarketing.com and today we're gonna talk about the
differences in quality between a digital DSLR and the camera that you've already
got it your pocket.
OK so let's jump right in.
The video you're seeing right now is being shot with Canon T3i.
I recently got this camera and I absolutely love it. It's a great great
camera and has a lot of features that allow you to really tweak your images. And really
control a lot of the aspects of your video and photography. It has
ISO settings so you can change that. You can change the aperture and you can
also change the shutter speed.
All of those settings give you the ability to really dial in your colors and
dial in your whites based on the amount of light that you're letting in into the
camera and onto the sensor for the final product.
What we're gonna do now is we're gonna jump over to my personal phone which is
an iPhone. now you may have an iPhone or you may have a Droid or
whatever you have to probably got a camera video feature on it and so we
just want to compare and contrast the difference in quality because most of
those camera phones, while they get the job done, they may not have all the
features than a digital DSLR has. So let's go ahead and take a look at that
right now.
okay so we switched to the iPhone camera you can immediately tell that the audio has
changed.
You can remedy that by using a digital video recorder that's
separate and then you'd just sync up the tracks between your digital audio recorder and your
video.
So that's not as important, but you
can see definitely see the quality has changed
considerably. I'm sure I'm a little darker and the white's not
quite as white in the background and unfortunately
on the actual cameras you just don't have the controls. Now you can change some
of that post-production
but for the most part you're kind of stuck with what you've got.
So as you can see there really are a lot of differences between a digital DSLR
and a typical camera phone. I mean the iPhone 4s is a pretty good phone but
it just doesn't hold its weight against a quality digital DSLR.
So with that in mind I don't want to discourage you if you want to make
YouTube videos,
that iphone works just fine - it still gets the job done.
But if you really want to make something quality, I do recommend stepping up to a
digital DSLR.
