Hey everyone this is DHTV and today is my unboxing and overview of the FitBit Force.
Lets get started. Alright so the FitBit Force is the upgrade to the FitBit Flex and is basically
a fitness tracking band. It is similar to the Nike Fuel Band or the Jawbone Up. So,
with this particular fitness band your going to be able to track many of the things you
do throughout your day. Your also going to be able to track the way you sleep. You can
track all of this through the LCD screen which I will look at in just a little bit. You will
also be able to sync everything up through your smart phone or computer. Now the first
thing your going to notice that we pulled out of the box is the FitBit Force itself.
If you used the FitBit Flex or you know what the FitBit Flex looks like, you will notice
that this is a little bit different, it's a little bit larger and you will notice that
it does have an LCD screen. As for accessories, you have your setup guild here. This is just
a website you need to go to to setup your FitBit Force and connect it with your smartphone
or computer. You also have you USB charging cable which unfortunately doesn't come with
a wall mount so, you will have to use your computer to charge this. Finally you have
a wireless syncing dongle to sync your Force with your computer. Taking a closer look at
the band you will notice it's size, it's very light. It's also made of some type of rubbery
flexable material, similar to what is used in most other sports watches. I have used
the FitBit Flex in the past and it is the same material as that. It is very comfortable,
I can tell you first hand. Also, something to keep in mind their is no latex used in
this band. So, people who have latex allergies you do not have to worry. As for the clasp
on the band it's mainly made of stainless steel but does have traces of nickel inside.
One thing to keep in mind with the clasp is that connecting it can be quite difficult
initially but over time as you break it in and use the band it does become quite easy
to connect it. As for the internals of the band, you have an accelerometer, an altimeter
and a vibrating motor. Now, you can see underneath you have the section for the port or charging
cable and on the side you have the button which controls your LCD screen giving you
all the features of the band. Now lets take a look at what this band can actually do for
you and help you with your fitness goals. So, what you can track is your steps, your
distance, it tracks the time and the calories you burn. It also tracks the stairs you climb
and your active minutes throughout the day. One feature that stood out to me with the
FitBit Flex, stands out once again with the FitBit Force. That is the ability to track
your sleep and your night. The FitBit Force has a feature which will allow you to track
the hours you sleep, the quality of your sleep as well as the times you wake up in your sleep.
Not only that, it has a feature built in which will allow you to wake up silently with a
vibrating alarm. As for syncing the FitBit Forces data to your smartphone or your computer
it's very simple. You don't need any wires it's all done through bluetooth and it's actually
using bluetooth 4.0. Now moving to the companion app, it is a free app that you can download
even if you don't have the FitBit Force or the Flex. If you want to just check it out,
just go into the app store or the Google Play Store and see what it's all about. It really
is a great app which allows you to do so much more then just what the band can do. Now this
was a downfall with the Flex because I felt the Flex relied to much on this but now with
the LCD screen and the tracking abilities of the force, I really think the app can really
be a companion app to this specific tracking device instead of being the main feature.
So with the companion app you can track your calories and basically everything you could
track with the band itself. One thing you can do is actually implement specific activities.
So, if your going to go for a heavy workout you can do a search and add that workout in.
You can also add in food you have eaten, water you drink and set goals with weight and different
things like that. You can almost setup a whole routine of what you want to do to achieve
your specific goal. The app itself really is a great app but if it's not your cup of
tea and you want to use a different app, the FitBit Force does work with many other apps
like "Lose it", "My Fitness Pall" and even "Map My Fitness". So, if you really like another
app you can definitely use that as well. tying in with that same user friendly interface
is a feature that should be available shortly and it's going to allow you to actually get
call notifications on the band itself. Now, this is going to bring this band from a simple
fitness band to almost like a smart watch. So you will basically be able to see call
notifications right on your wrist when your phone is near by. This is going to be available
to iPhone 4s and later as long as your running iOS 7. Now, in terms of quality, battery and
things like that... The battery should last about 7 to 10 days an it's using a lithium-ion
polymer battery. I know that with the FitBit Flex I was only able to get 6 days so this
an upgrade. I will put it through the test during my full review in about a week and
we will hopefully see that 10 day mark. I am assuming if your using the LCD screen a
lot it will drain it down quicker then if you didn't use to much. Now as far as the
environment, what you can use it in. It is water resistant, this means it can handle
splashes, rain and things like that. You can probably use it in the shower and things but
it doesn't recommend that you take it swimming with you and submerge it or things like that.
it does say it should not be submerged more then one metre which does mean it can be submerged.
I am going to put it through the test just to see if it does break if you do submerge
it. I will put it under water, again that will be in my review. Now in terms of temperatures,
it's optimal temperature is -4 to 113 Fahrenheit or -20 to 45 Celsius between those. It's maximum
operating altitude is 30,000 feet so keep all that in mind if your planing on purchasing
this particular fitness band. Once again the link is in the description down below if you
want to purchase it or get reviews, specifications, price, anything like that... It's all going
to be on that one link for you. Anyway, let me know what you think of this unboxing and
overview of the FitBit Force. If your still unsure definitely subscribe to my channel,
I will be posting my full in-debth review of the FitBit force in about a week I am going
to take it through all kinds of tests, as I said submerging it under water, taking it
to work with me, taking it on workouts and taking it with me when I play hockey. So,
it's definitely going to get some use this week and w will see if it can stand up to
the test. Anyway guys, thanks for watching, subscribe, hit that like button and leave
a comment. I'll see you in the next one.
