Hello, thank you for watching my video!
Today we are going to make a sushi roll in the shape of a heart WITHOUT rice.
This is an alternative for all of those people who don't want to eat rice because of a diet or for whatever reason.
We'll begin with a sheet of Nori(seaweed) and we'll place it vertically instead of horizontally.
Then we'll spread the crab meat over the Nori as though it were Sushi rice as shown.
After that some spicy tuna which is finely cut tuna mixed with sesame oil, sriracha, and a bit of mayonnaise.
Then a slice of avocado spanning roughly the same size as the seaweed as well as cucumber.
Optionally you can add sprouts for a little flavor.
We'll roll it up like this first using the tips of our fingers to add pressure and roll it up tight.
Then add a little bit of water to the inside of the seaweed so that it sticks when we roll it up.
Here we have a slice of tuna of a good size to fully cover the top of the roll.
With the bamboo we're going to give it it's form. Using the palm and the tips of the fingers we're going to press it to an angle to give it a curved half-heart shape.
Next we'll add the tuna from one end to the other. The redder the tuna the better, I'm using blue fin tuna, the best there is.
Place some plastic wrap on the top so that it doesn't stick to the bamboo and we'll continue to shape it like a little ramp.
Getting the knife a little wet we'll cut the roll over the plastic wrap in half and then we'll cut those halves in half as well.
Finally we've got out plate nicely decorated with an avocado leaf.
Now we can combine two halves to make a nice little heart that you can then arrange on the plate as you like.
The result is a delicious little heart that you can then eat in halves with some soy sauce and wasabi.
Thank you very much for watching my video and I hope you enjoyed it!
