Matt Dolman: Hey. This is Matt Dolman from the Dolman Law Group. I'm here to talk to
you today about distracted driving. Distracted driving is a practice area that we've recently
begun handling. It's a practice area that has actually come to light in recent years
based on the proliferation of cellphones. Every one has it. But what the problem that
I see is the same stigma that is attached to drinking and driving for some reason unbeknownst
to me and many others has not attached itself to texting and driving. Texting and driving
is actually more dangerous than drinking and driving. On average, according to a recent
study by Consumer Digest, the average driver looks down for 4.6 seconds while retrieving
a text message. Imagine taking your eyes off the road for 4.6 seconds. Now, put your hand
over your eyes and count to at least four and imagine that no one is looking at the
road while you operate your car. How scary is that? Now, how scary is that to the other
drivers on the road.
What's more scary is over a 120,000 automobile accidents per year are attributable to texting
and driving. There is no text message that is that important to put your life or the
life of another on the line. Don't text and drive. It's far too dangerous, far too risky,
and far too costly. Thank you for selecting Dolman Law Group.
