How to Pick Finger Foods for Your Baby. Eating with your hands is not only fun but also helps
with hand-eye coordination. Introduce these foods once your baby can sit independently.
You will need Dry cereal Toast Sliced vegetables, cooked Well-cooked, shredded beef Well-cooked,
shredded chicken Soft fruits, seeds removed Noodles Pretzels and rice cakes. Step 1. Choose
dry cereal or toast that will melt in your baby's mouth. Step 2. Slice cooked vegetables,
such as carrots, beans, and sweet potatoes. Step 3. Introduce them to well-cooked and
shredded beef and chicken. Step 4. Cut soft fruits, like bananas, melons, and pears, into
bite-sized pieces. Remove any seeds from the fruit. Step 5. Give your baby cooked, cooled
macaroni or other bite-sized pasta. Step 6. Stay away from foods that are choking hazards,
such as nuts, popcorn, and hard candy. Avoid shellfish, honey, and whole eggs for babies
under the age of one. Step 7. Serve pretzels and rice cakes for a treat. Introduce a new
