Hi, I'm Craig Fugate, the Administrator of FEMA.
Today, we're at the National Hurricane Conference,
this year preparing for the 2012 Hurricane Season.
Don't know when the next hurricane is going to strike, don't know where
it's going to strike, but I do know this...
Now is the time to make sure you know what hurricanes mean
for your community, what the threats are and
how to protect yourself and your family against these storms.
Remember hurricanes just don't impact the coast.
Ask the folks from Hurricane Irene. Inland flooding is another major risk.
So take time now to learn about your risk from hurricanes, make sure you
have a family plan and if a hurricane threatens your community and local
officials say it's time to evacuate, don't hesitate. Go early.
If you haven't dealt with hurricanes or if you don't know what to do or if
you want more information go to ready.gov.
Make sure you're ready for the 2012 hurricane season. Thank you.
