Interviewer: You got to don your own hood.
Colton Haynes: I did.
Interviewer: What was that like?
Colton Haynes: Well, it was really difficult, because, you know, my hair
got messed up. So no, Jackson he didn't really like the
messed up hair, and now, with the transition to Roy Harper,
he's going to be okay with it, but . . . I'm kidding.
Interviewer: You have a lot of emotional scenes.
Haynes: I do, and I think it's going to continue. You know, this season
is going to be really emotional for Roy because, you know,
his community was destroyed. You're going to start to find
out a lot more about his family and his past and people that
are coming back into his life from the past that he has cared
about or have cared about him. And it's going to drive him
into the ground a little more.
Interviewer: Is he going to get closer to Willa or a little farther
away because of this?
Haynes: Oh, they're going, they're . . . it's almost the same thing.
Right from the get-go they are hot and heavy. Very, very,
they're, you know, pretty sexy right in the beginning, and
they're going to continue to do that until a few secrets come
out or, you know, until you find out one of them might have
hidden agendas.
Interviewer: And as the sole representative, really, of the Glades,
who's actually lived there as a main character, is that going
to be something that tears you apart from the rest of the
people because of the destruction that's happened in the
Glades? How is that going to work out?
Haynes: I think it's going to make Roy realize that there's a bigger
world out there and that he needs to be strong for his
community, but also he needs to help people, you know, he
needs to give his street smarts to people who aren't really
skilled in that area. So in a way Roy could be a big help to
the underground world for some of the characters that don't
really know a lot about the Glades.
