Hey how's it going everybody? For those of you who are new to Arma 3 I just want to give
you a quick description of Wasteland, which is a popular game mode really not new to Arma.
But when Arma 3 came out it was made for Stratis, the smaller map, and then Altis came out so
it was made for that too. Stratis is a bit better because of its smaller size. There's
dozens of servers and there is a few different versions too, but they're all really based
on the same foundation. So basically I play two versions called Sa-Matra and dp wasteland.
Both of them have great fps and they play really good. So once you join the server you
can join any of three sides. The blufor and opfor are made to be part of a team, and you
can join the independent if you want to play by yourself, where you can create a group
within the independent. This can be done by going to group management which kind of varies
on different servers. Then once you do that you can invite other players to your group.
So you team mates are shown with a colored dots. Blufor have blue dots, independent groups
have green dots, etc... So you probably asking, what do you do on Wasteland? Well, it's basically
a giant team deathmatch sandbox. You usually start with a pistol and need to gather supplies
and gear. This can be done by killing other players or buying gear at several of the stores.
Most servers have gun stores, general stores, car shops, you know a lot of those places.
The best way to get geared up is to really kill other players. A lot of them have money
too so you can spend it at the stores, making it generally a team deathmatch. If you're
not in the mood to kill, there are various other objectives you can do. There are side
missions that will often pop up in the top right hand corner of the screen, and then
they will be marked on the map. You can find cars spread around the map for transportation,
some of them are in perfect conditions, others may need a repair kit or fuel, but it really
doesn't get more complicated than that. These items can usually be purchased at the general
store in most servers. In these cars you can usually find supplies and weapons, and you
can also store construction pieces in them as well, which is another big part of Wasteland.
You can build huge forts with many of the objects Arma has to offer. Some servers have
stores for these items while others servers just kind of randomly spawn them around. You
can check out an example base I made in Arma 2 with some buddies at the end of this video.
That's really all there is to Wasteland, it's a great online game mode in Arma 3. On my
channel I have a lot of gameplay footage. It's mostly trolling but it's all good fun.
I hope you enjoyed watching and learned something new about Arma 3 today.
