Flatbed Trucking Jobs. The Pre Work Screen has been developed to assess the ability to
perform the physical tasks required to be an over the road driver.
All new Hunt Transportation Drivers must pass a pre-work screening in order to be eligible
to drive for our company. The pre work screen is conducted by a health professional. It
should take anywhere from ten to fifteen minutes to complete.
The screen begins with some basic stretching to get warmed up. You'll have your blood pressure
checked at the beginning of the pre work screen and your heart rate will be checked throughout
the screening process. Be sure to were comfortable clothing and soft soled shoes when you take
the test. That will make things much easier for you.
Following the direction of the health professional will ensure you complete the screen in a timely
manner and it will help to avoid any potential injury.
After stretching, you will move on to lifting portion of the pre-work screen, which starts
by lifting twenty pounds onto a forty inch shelf twice. You must complete another two
repetitions at forty pounds. Then, another two repetitions of sixty two
pounds and a final two repetition settings at eight two pounds. These lifts are designed
to test your ability to properly transfer a folded tarp from the rack to the trailer.
The next portion is designed to test your vertical pushing capabilities. In this test,
you must generate one hundred and twenty pounds of static downward pushing force, at a height
range of between twelve and fifteen inches at least one of your three trials. This is
designed to test your ability to tighten chains using a *** bar.
The horizontal pushing portion of the pre work screen requires the driver to generate
74 pounds static horizontal push force at a height of forty five inches in one of their
three trials. This is designed to test your ability to open and close the tractor hood,
check fluid levels, refill as needed and to also conduct daily pre-trip inspection.
The force gauge will then we moved from forty five inches to range between seventeen and
thirty eight inches and the driver must generate fifty nine pounds of horizontal pushing force
on one of their three trials. This is designed to test your ability to
manually lift a tire from the ground to the catwalk, trailer bed or tire rackand to prepare
tires for inclement weather conditions.
During the horizontal pulling portion of the pre-work screen, you'll be required to generate
one hundred thirty pounds of static pull force at a height of six inches in one of your three
trials. This test is designed to ensure you can pull an r-g-n pin release lever, hook
or unhook tractor from a step deck, r-g-n or flatbed trailer.
During the vertical pulling portion of the pre-work screen, you must generate one hundred
six pounds of full force at a height range between seventy two and fifty-seven inches.
You must accomplish this in one of his three trials. This is designed to test your ability
to ratchet straps tight with a *** bar to secure
various types of loads.
In the horizontal pulling test, you are required to generate eighty pounds of static pull force
at a height of forty three and a half inches in one of your three trials.
In the hand grip test, you must generate at least sixty four pounds of grip force in one
of your three trials you may use either hand for this test. This is designed to test your
ability to grip in manually connect and disconnect airlines and power cords.
