As David Beckham arrives for a photo-op in Miami, he's mobbed by fans and media. Some
fans are lucky enough to get a picture with their hero, but others aren't.
Can we please get off the field?
Get off the field please.
We need you to back off. We need you to back up.
He actually arrived to play football with local youngsters and pose for photos, but
the scrum made it too difficult to even get to meet them.
After several attempts to get to cross the pitch and reach the youngsters - the photo-op
was abandoned. The Beckham motorcade drove off, and the kids were left playing amongst
themselves. Police said the event had turned into a safety hazard with hundreds of fans,
media and paparazzi rushing the pitch and surrounding the former England star.
This isn't the first time Beckham's appeal has led to problems. While visiting a university
football team in Shanghai last summer, at least 500 fans flocked to catch a glimpse.
During the stampede that followed, 5 people were injured. Beckham had been in Florida
announcing plans for a new Miami-based Major League Soccer franchise, saying he wanted
to recruit some of the best players around the globe and build a world class stadium.
