Hi guys, could you introduce yourselves?
My name is Aleksandra Djelmash.
And she's a singer! - And I am a singer.
She's also a songwriter and lyric writer.
And I am David, I am a guitar player and the main composer for the band.
You played this festival last year as well. Since then a lot has changed for the band.
You signed a deal with Century Media Records and now you have a new guitarist.
How have these things affected you?
Actually a lot. The experience of signing with Century Media is life-changing, in a really positive way.
Of course it has some good sides and bad sides, a lot of stress.
It's a great thing, not many bands have the opportunity to work with such an amazing label.
And about the new members, our guitar player at the previous edition of Euroblast was just a session member.
After Euroblast festival we had to find a full member and we found him. And that's about it.
Last year you introduced Bojan Kvocka on bass, and new singer Ana Maglica.
This year you have a new guitarist, Dusan Andrijasevic. How did you find each one of them?
Actually Ana - Well, I heard of Ana. She was singing at some festivals, pop and stuff like that.
I heard about her and said "Hey David, let's have a listen, maybe this would be the right thing to do."
Dusan is in those heavy metal circles, you know, in Belgrade,
because he was playing guitar in many metal bands there.
So we thought he would be a great option for us.
And Bojan, we found him... actually he found us on the internet,
and he sent us some links to him playing Protest the Hero and some technical stuff.
We were like "this is it", we just asked him to play with us.
Is your line-up complete for now?
For now yeah.
You recently signed a deal with Century Media Records.
For a band that only burst onto the scene last year, that's a pretty big deal!
How have they been treating you so far?
Actually, yeah, we've just signed.
It was a long negotiation process, but they are treating us amazing,
they are really patient about everything and they have real faith in us, if I can call it like that.
Some really good plans for the future.
And we're working *** this album, actually it's almost done.
What made you decide to go with them? Maybe you had other offers from different labels?
No, actually that was our first offer.
That was our first show, last year at Euroblast, and our first offer from a label.
As John said last year: that was one shot - one kill.
That's how it all started with the label.
You're currently working on your debut album, due for release early next year.
What can we expect from it?
It's 11 songs and 3 bonus tracks for now. Maybe we will add one or drop one out.
Musically it's kind of a mixture.
There is a lot of pop influence coming from Aleksandra and Ana.
There is also a lot of crazy instrumental influence coming from Yeqy or maybe Kvocka, and me.
So all that combined creates this feeling of being catchy and technical at the same time,
which is fun for us to play and maybe a bit easier for the audience to absorb.
Can we expect any guest appearances?
On this album, no.
You've mentioned that you'd be using some unusual instruments on the album, can you tell us which ones?
Yeah we have the duduk on a track 'Love Song'.
We have some saz and there will be definitely some orchestral stuff and something like that.
Just trying to do something a bit different with all these 'djent' moments
that we actually have in our music from time to time.
But yeah, it's like trying to mix many interesting instruments in our music, definitely.
Before the signing was announced, it was revealed that you'd be supporting Epica on their US tour,
but you decided to cancel these dates, what happened?
Well, we're still negotiating.
We just thought that we were not ready for full promotion, and the album wasn't ready,
so we thought it was not the right time to take that big opportunity.
We weren't really ready for that.
David, you have a very active solo career as well.
You recently released your 'Bilo 2.0' EP,
and played some of the material live at UK Tech Metal Fest earlier this year.
How was the new material received?
About the new material, it was received pretty well actually.
I was kind of surprised, when I put it out,
how many people downloaded it and actually bought it on Bandcamp and iTunes.
I got great feedback for that.
And about the show at UK Tech Metal Fest, it was a surprise, even for us, as much as for the audience,
because we had never rehearsed it.
So it was really fun, it was a stressful but at the same time fun experience.
It's safe to assume that you are the main writing force behind the band.
How do the other members take part in the writing process?
Aleksandra and I have been writing music since like 2006 or 2007.
And we have many songs written already.
So we took a bunch of those songs for this first release.
Speaking about other members, Yeqy is an amazing drummer.
He is not showing as much as he can do yet, with us.
Actually he's now thinking about preparing his solo record, which is really crazy.
It's some Nintendo sounding fusion ***, it's amazing, really amazing.
And with all the fusionish and polyrhythmic influences,
also from other members, it's a good combination I think.
That's all we wanted to ask. The last words are yours.
Hers. - Why mine? Why me?
