Be amazed o heavens, be shaken o foundations of the earth,
behold he that dwells in the highest, is numbered and afflicted and sheltered in a lowly tomb.
Bless him o youths, praise him o Priests. All people exalt him above all forever.
Do not lament me o mother, seeing me in the tomb.
The Son conceived in the womb without seed. For I shall arise!
And be glorified with eternal glory as God.
I shall exalt all who magnify you in faith and in love.
Glory to thee o God, glory to thee! I escaped suffering and was
blessed beyond nature at thy strange birth o Son who art without beginning.
But now, beholding Thee, my God, dead and without breath, I am sorely pierced by the sword of sorrow.
But arise that I may be magnified!
...springing from the tomb o Christ! In whom we are established! Christ is Risen from the dead!
Yesterday I was crucified with thee, glorify me with thee o Savior!
... bestowing life! Christ is Risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and upon those in the tombs bestowing life! [Repeated]
>>Priest: Again, and again in peace, let us pray to the Lord! >>People: Lord have Mercy!
He is like a shining angel, who cries with a piercing voice:
Today salvation has come to the world for Christ has risen as all-powerful!
... and upon those in the tombs bestowing life! Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and upon those in the tombs bestowing life! [Repeated]
>>Priest: Christ is Risen! >>People: Indeed he is Risen! [Repeated 3 times]
>>Priest: If any man be devout, if any one of you here loves God, then you should delight in this feast, for it is radiant!
If any one of you be wise, a wise servant of our God, let each of you now enter with rejoicing into the joy of your Lord!
If any of you have labored long now; in fasting, you shall receive your reward.
If any one of you has worked from the first day of the fast, let him today receive his reward.
If anyone came later at the third hour, let him, with thanksgiving, eat the feast.
If you arrived at the sixth hour, don't have any misgivings for you in no way shall be deprived.
If you have tarried until the ninth hour, draw near, doubting and fearing nothing.
If you have arrived, even at the eleventh hour, do not be alarmed at your tardiness.
For our Master, being jealous of his honor will accept the last, even as he accepts the first.
He gives rest even to him that comes at the eleventh hour as even unto him that worked from the very first hour.
And he is merciful unto the last, he gives satisfaction to the first, and to one he gives, and unto the other he bestows his gifts.
And he accepts the works and embraces the intention, he honors the acts and praises the offering.
Therefore, enter every one of you into the joy of your Lord, and receive your reward; both the first, and likewise the second, and even the last
you rich and poor together be glad. You who are sober minded, and you who are slothful, honor this day.
Rejoice today, you who have fasted, and you who disregarded the fast; for the table is full. Be satisfied all of you the fatted calf is killed and let no one go away hungry.
All of you shall enjoy the banquet of faith. Receive all of you the riches of mercy. Let not one of you lament in your poverty.
for the universal kingdom has been revealed, let no one weep for his transgressions; for pardon and forgiveness of sins is shown forth by Christ even from His grave.
Let none of you fear death anymore! For the savior has set us free from death and the grave forever and ever! He that was held by it has extinguished it!
Having descended into hades, he made hades captive, and took Satan as a prisoner. He embittered it when it tasted of his flesh!
And Isaiah receiving this beforehand cried out: Hades, he said, was embittered when it met thee in the regions below!
It was embittered because it was destroyed! It was embittered because hades and hell was mocked!
It was embittered for it was slain and died! It was embittered for it was cast down! It was embittered for it was bound and made a captive!
It received a body into its presence, and it met in that body; God, face to face!
It received earth, and dust, and mud, and it met heaven!
It received which was seen, and fell upon that which is unseen.
O death, where now is your sting? O hell, where is your victory?
For Christ is risen! And you death and hell are cast down!
Christ is risen and the demons have fallen!
Christ is risen and the angels rejoice!
Christ is risen and he is the life of all!
Christ is risen, and not one of the dead remains in the grave!
Christ, risen from the dead, has become the firstborn, of those who have fallen asleep.
To him be glory, and dominion unto ages of ages... Amen...
