Hello. I'm going to talk to you about parking your car at PCC.
If you park at PCC, you need a parking permit,
and you need to park in the correct parking spot.
First we will talk about parking permits.
A parking permit is a small, special card
from PCC that you put in your car.
There are different kinds of parking permits.
Most permits are for one term. A term is three months.
There are four terms:
Fall Term, Winter Term, Spring Term, and Summer Term.
There is an All-Day permit for one term.
You can use the All-Day permit in the morning or at night.
Also, there is an Evening-Only permit for one term.
You can only use the Evening-Only permit after 4:00 pm.
Ask your teacher or the Business Office
how much the different parking permits cost.
Buy your parking permits at the Business Office.
You need your G-number.
The G-number is the Student Number that PCC gave you.
You need the license plate number of your car.
The license plate number
is the number on the front and back of your car.
Carpool means two or more people go somewhere together
in the same car at the same time.
If you drive to PCC with one or more students,
you can get a Carpool permit for one term.
Carpool permits are cheaper than the regular permits.
There is a Carpool permit for two students
and a Carpool permit for three or more students.
For a Carpool permit,
you need to fill out the Carpool form at the Business Office.
You need your and the other students' names,
G-numbers, signatures, and class schedules.
You also need the license plate number of the car.
Next, put the parking permit in your car.
You need to put the permit on the rear view mirror.
This is important.
If you forget your parking permit,
you need to buy a permit for just one day.
You can buy the parking permit for one day
at the yellow machines in the parking lots.
You can only use the permit for the day that you buy it.
Put the One-Day permit on the dashboard of the car.
Now, we'll talk about where to park.
At PCC, there are four kinds of parking:
General Parking, Staff Parking, Disabled Parking,
and 30-Minute Parking.
Students can only park in General Parking.
Most parking is General Parking.
Staff, Diabled, and 30-Minute Parking have signs.
Look for these signs.
Don't park in Staff Parking. Don't park in Disabled Parking.
Don't park in 30-Minute Parking. Only park in General Parking.
Only park in a parking spot in between the painted lines.
Sometimes people park on the street near PCC.
If you park on the street, you don't need a parking permit,
but you need to look for a sign that tells you how long you can park.
Everyday, PCC workers check each car.
PCC workers will give a citation to the cars
that do not have the correct parking permit
in the correct place in the car.
PCC workers will give a citation to cars in the wrong parking spot.
A citation is a parking ticket. A citation cost money.
Tell your teacher right away, if you get a citation. Do not wait.
Your teacher can help you with the citation.
Please ask you teacher if you have any question about parking at PCC.
PCC teachers are happy to help you!
