When I came home from the Navy I wasn't the girl that left
and my family, I feel, really wanted the girl that left,
not the girl that came back.
And especially in the state I was in when I came back, I mean,
I had bandages on my wrist and I was like,
you know, F this, F that.
I had a bunch of metal that I, I pierced so many things right
when I got out of the Navy just because I could.
You know, my hair was all short.
I was angry, cussing, chain smoking.
I wasn't a really friendly person to be around.
And so that was I think, a little scary for my parents.
I'd say that our relationship has never been the same
but it's getting better and mostly it's because we've gotten
to know each other again and they know who I am now.
But it's taken us a while and I would tell everybody,
don't try to force it.
Don't try to force it.
