Hello Senior Exhibition Students! Now that you have organized your portfolio
and completed your speech, it is time to create a visual aid for your presentation. Powerpoint
and Prezi are two popular programs that you may use to complete this task. Remember, your
visual aid is meant to support your speech, so it is very important to have your speech
finalized before you begin. Let's review what is required for your visual
aid. You presentation must include a minimum of eight slides. You must include images within
your presentation. Slides need to be bulleted and brief. You slides are meant to support
your speech. This means that your speech will include much more than what your slides say.
I am going to share with you a sample presentation that I created using Prezi. This will help
you understand what I expect to see in your presentations.
Your first slide should be the title of your presentation. This can include your name,
learning center, and graduating class year. The second slide is the introduction to your
speech. You need to grab your audience's attention with a inspirational quote, joke, or short
anecdote. The third slide will provide your audience with an outline of the key points
of your chosen topic. For this example, I have chosen topic 1. Slide number four is
about your first key point: Who am I? This slide can include where you were born, information
about your family, and some of your favorite things. Remember, you are expected to include
images to support what you say. The next slide is key point number two: What obstacles have
I overcome? Remember, this presentation is only meant to support your speech. Slides
should include important points, but not full sentences or paragraphs. Slide number six
covers key point number three: What goals to I have for my future? Slide number seven
covers key point number four: How will I obtain these goals? What is my plan? This slide can
include what college you have decided to attend or what job training you need for your dream
career. Your last slide is your conclusion. In this slide, a simple "thank you, any questions?"
will suffice. Keep in mind that this is only an example.
I encourage you to be creative with this presentation. It should reflect your personality and is
a chance for you to share a little more about yourself and your dreams with others. As always,
I am available to answer any questions. Good luck, have fun, and I look forward to seeing
your final product!
