Hi everyone, thanks for watching Netageo
a web show about video games, anime,
actually, the stuff I like.
Today I am reporting for you at a huge toy event,
and we'll focus mainly on video games.
For those who are following the latest game news,
you have probably already heard about the E3,
that big game event in California that ended just recently.
And a lot of interesting new things have been announced.
One of the highlights was the presentation of the Nintendo 3DS,
that offers a 3D rendering without wearing special glasses,
with extended graphic possibilities.
Accessories that allow a new gameplay style were introduced,
such as the Playstation Move from Sony,
and the Kinect from Microsoft.
Playing video games is going to become a real sport!
Everyone's gonna become super brawny.
"Hey, what's your workout routine?" "Oh, video game."
Today, we are in Makuhari Messe,
at the east of Tokyo
This is a place where a lot of events and shows are held,
such as the Tokyo Game Show.
Today, we are attending the 32nd World Hobby Fair.
This fair has been running since 1994,
and is held twice a year,
in summer and winter, during 2 days each.
To give you a clue about the scale of the event,
let's talk in numbers.
The record of visitors was reached in 2003,
for the 17th edition, with almost 170000 people!
Seeing the scale of the thing,
no wonder that all the big game and toy companies are here.
Cospa, the manga & game cosplay maker
was here too.
Let's just get inside,
check out the booths and what's going on.
But I feel we're gonna have to struggle with all the kids.
Let's begin with the Capcom booth.
For information, I am a really big fan of Monster Hunter.
For those who know well the series,
you probably know the Felynes,
the little cat-helpers in the game.
Your hunt companion,
they also do cooking, even gardening,
well, when they feel like it.
A PSP game has been released just for them.
"Monhan Nikki Pokapoka Airuu Mura",
dubbed "The Felynes' Village".
The cats are going to work hard again :
gardening,
-c'mon, pull on that radish! -
fishing,
hunting,
- those kitties will have a hard time against that dragon though -
and a lot of other activities are available!
These various tasks will allow you
to make your village grow.
A cute game, "kawaii" and accessible,
that should add up to the circle of Monster Hunter fans.
Sure that the cats in my neighborhood aren't that active.
They're so lazy, always idling away,
they're more sloths than cats actually.
This game should be released in Japan by the end of August.
We could also play Okami on DS,
a game full of promise,
that should be released by the end of September in Japan.
Let's move on with the Nintendo booth,
where a demo of Mario Galaxy 2 was playable.
We had a good surprise with the upcoming Wii Party,
also playable in demo version.
With more than 80 mini-games,
this cousin of the best-selling Mario Party series
is awaited on July 8 in Japan,
and by the end of the year in France.
Here are the 3 brand new colors available for the DS iLL,
available since June 19 in Japan.
I have to say I prefer the yellow one.
At Pokemon Company,
we could have a glimpse of the upcoming Pokemon games,
the Black and White versions, to be released in September in Japan.
Every summer in Japan, a new Pokemon film is released.
It's a kind of tradition.
We could see clips of the next one, "Genei no Hasha : Zoroark"
- don't have a clue about the meaning though.
To finish with, on the Sony booth,
the flagship item was the Playstation Move,
which I had the pleasure to test
with the game "Machi Suberi",
in which you are sliding down the streets of a Hong-Kong-style city
on an office chair!
The motion control's sensitivity is correct,
but it is very close to the Wii Motion Plus.
One should test it with more games to really compare them.
The big difference is made with the Playstation Eye,
that shows your image on the screen,
like in the game Eyepet.
Oh, how cute...
...This ain't bad as well!
The Playstation Move is expected by the end of October,
and about 5 games should be released at the same time.
Modnation is a karting game
that allows you to create your own races,
your own karts, and to upload them,
like the maps in LittleBigPlanet.
This game, that has just been released in Europe and the US,
will be released in Japan at the end of July.
Another good surprise : the game Patapon 3.
This time, you can play up to 8 people.
It is even Wi-Fi compatible.
The graphics are more subtle,
the gameplay more sophisticated,
I guess that again, "Pon-pon-patapon"
is going to ring in my head for a long time...
That's all, this is the end of the show.
and of the World Hobby Fair too,
we can hear "Auld Lang Syne",
which means politely that we should go home.
Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to show you everything,
we took a lot of time to test the games.
I hope we helped you discover new stuff.
See you very soon on Netageo,
as always, if you have any advice or suggestion,
