here i am in my backyard
we're looking at my reflection in the sliding glass door at the back of my house
and if i take my polarizing filter and place in front of the lens
as i rotate the filter
you see
very little to no change in the reflection in the glass
However, if i move off to an angle
now i'm looking at reflection of the fence in my backyard
through the reflection in the sliding glass door
now if I take my polarizing filter and place it
I can see it does eliminate the reflection and if I rotate it the other way, the reflection
reappears
In this orientation, I see the reflection,
in this orientation, the reflection is blocked
that's because at an angle the light is more polarized
than straight on - perpendicularly -
the light is not a polarized. No matter the orientation of my filter
you still see the reflection in the glass.
Again, at the angle
I can cause the reflection to go away.
